I have done lots of all over paint jobs with massive amounts of flake with candy over it! really popular for some people.

Great tips in this video, as always! Could've used this a couple months ago when I painted flake on LS engine parts for the first time lol. A friend said I should try mixing the flake into intercoat then clear it. Seems like it could possibly help with the settling/shrinkage issue.

Why did it look so black when you sprayed the flake on ? Was it just flake clear together ?

@@noremaccystoms2195 yes it was flake with a cheap 2k clear mixed with paint rocket to speed the drying up.

Oh man this is the best repair shop I ever see in Perth! May I ask a few question 1.Where about u location? 2.Do u also taking insurance work? 3.Are u guys only doing & repair an OZ cars? 4.Will u provide a profession detailing service? I like spraying dry flake over a single coat of clear. The flake does not stack because it only sticks to the clear. Then I clear it with a few coats & let dry. Then sand & spray candy mixed with binder (clear base) then 2k clear. You can make a flake gun from a plastic bottle. Just put a hole in 1 side to put a airgun & a small hole on the other side then fill with flake till just below the hole. Shot the air in & the flake comes out the other side.

I played around with a can of 2k gloss black spray max last night . The first side of the bike I did came out like glass. The other side I did lasts night came up a bit orange peely in some areas . Crazy enough I sprayed over those areas with iso in a spray bottle , I couldn’t believe it , I looked at it this morning and it was mint like glass, I don’t know how that fixed it . Crazy surprise

Gunny, i did a large truck white with puple pearl, and the pearl ‘disolved’ into the clear and made it pink. Any advice? I will re shoot it, but it did look good in the sun. Owner wanted a violet/purple effect, but liked the pink. She will drive for a few months to make up her m8nd.

I'd love to be asked to do paid flake jobs now, even just every now and then !! Too many hours in labour cost for most people, and trying to explain the process and why its so time consuming usually results in them looking at you like you've just asked them for the pin number for their bank account 😂 Good job 👍 especially explaining why it's best to use a fact curing ms first to get that initial clear build because it's gonna be sanded anyway.

MS is a questionable choice over flakes. Try an undiluted UHS (preferably one with 55-60% or such solid content)...hardly any shrinkback and you can often get away with 1 fat coat.

That looks pretty fat fella, good to see your back on the eastern see board lol,....going back to an old video of you painting sapphire blue DNA candy on a r/h /f guard you mixed the candy in the diamond clear 200g of clear with 30g of candy do you roughly know how many grams of candy you would get from a bottle of the concentrate. Hooroo to the gooroo of paint have an awesome time fella

Stop doing what your doing a get your hands on House of kolor paint.there candy is put down the same as a base colour so don’t get heavy build up like your getting with concentrate.
