In Power Book 2 Ghost, rarely have they ever given us flashbacks in regards to character backstories. However, Power Book 2 Ghost Season 4 seems to have made an exception. In Power Ghost Season 4, we've seen various flashbacks involving the Tejada family and how Monet bought her kids into the street game from a young age. We've seen one for Dru and Diana, but we haven't seen one for Cane, just yet, although I do think it's coming and maybe it will give us answers as to why Cane is such a 'Momma's Boy' so to speak. So in this breakdown for Power Ghost, I run through Cane's trigger point and also his battle vs Dru, and how I feel like we haven't seen the last of it, and why they're destined to meet at some point again in Power Book 2 Ghost Season 4.

The point is Monet has damaged Cane in the same way that Kanan damaged Ghost, and Ghost damaged Tommy. She made him think that everything he does is for family, and business, money, and power. But all Cane has ever cared about is Monet. That’s the sole reason for his jealousy and obsession w Tariq. He doesn’t even realize if he took out Diana and Dru nothing would change between them, he’d never take Lorenzo’s place. And he’d just be a slave to Monet but alone until someone else or he’s finally goes crazy enough to clip her.

It's poetic street justice for Caine to go to jail like Kanon, Dru die like breeze (breeze was in the way) Diana and monet die Diana in a crossfire between noma and monet... Monet kills noma and Anya gets turned out like Tariq did by slim but I digress

She cheated on Lorenzo with Ramirez for police protection, she then had a fling with Mecca then she had Lorenzo deleted. So for her to really blame Riq for the demise of her family is BS! Cane has always been on slow heat and slowly the heat being turned up and he’s starting to simmer but then dru calling him a mamma’s boy basically turned the heat on full blast. That beating was years of anger and frustration however this backstory will probably make us understand cane in a different way.

in Cane's eyes: why does his own parents try to put the 2 other kids (who have other talents and DONT WANT to be in the game, above him?) in his eyes, why isnt he rewarded for his loyalty by his mother? ironically enough, Cane's new desire to not be a momma's boy will push any Tejada unity to the side and will push him further INTO Noma

Cane is the angriest about the attempt on Monet because at the end of S1 his entire family (Except Lorenzo) turned their backs on him and Monet was actually willing to let Cane die to either Ramirez or Tariq. Dru is getting a pass while Cane has never done anything as heinous to deserve the hate receives from his own family.

Nobody realizes this. Once Tasha gets touched behind this shit, all bets are off. Had Tasha gotten hurt or killed from what Diana did, he wouldn’t have let Diana get a single word in. But then again not letting people speak was a mistake Ghost always made. For example, Rolla.

When cane kills dru, monet and cane will have a showdown. Tejada family table will slim down each season. Last one standing will be cane. House will be on foreclosure. But since it’s the last season, monet can possibly go to jail the way she discussed how she knew a monet in real life

I think cane may be Dru and Diana half brother, he may have a different father, his reaction seem a bit detached from dru when he mentioned their pops dying. I think it’s too easy to lean on, him not grieving as much because of the lack of respect Lorenzo may or may not have had for not giving him that #2 spot.

Cane is Kanon’s son; he’s the only kid who looks full black of the Tejada kids. Would explain Monets connection with him and why his “father” was so distant and treated him how he did. The kid who was in the game not being offered the business, but the artsy, square kid was set to take over the business doesn’t make sense

I also think that Lorenzo never really felt like Cane was his actual son and he knew, Monet was always lying about something. So Cane might not have really been a a Tejada even though he carried the name.

Cane is the only child who got to see Monet before she before the game. He’s seen the loving softness of his mother and that change. I think that’s a major thing that we have to think about when it comes to the relationship I know as the oldest two kids me and my mom’s relationship is on and that’s because I was the first born and it’s just different, so I think that is the biggest and the difference between the two I don’t think that Kane could ever do anything that Monet would want to kill him for compared to how Diana and Drew are. He would never turn his back on his mother. Drew and it’s not the same thing.

They gave a STRONG backshot in season One I believe. When Cane killed the guy that disrespected the family @ the party for Zeke. When Cane got in the car. The way Monet cleaned him up was a sign of RESPECT & a little creepy. Some women with different baby daddies tend to love their children more than the other. IJS just throwing it out there.
