As far as Salim goes, while yes, it was a sloppy kill (and I’m basing this comment fully on the assumption that he’s gone) that didn’t need to happen, it’d be tough to tie that one to Tariq unless Diana talks. In late game Power, the bodies pile up. Some ain’t the most logical and they give you the feeling that the protagonists are setting themselves up for failure (Ghost killing that drunk driver after Raina died, Tommy killing Holly’s uncle…basically anything he did after her death), but it ends up holding no weight.

I get that there would be no show had Tariq and Brayden chosen to realize how good they had things. To me, no matter how slick of a move they make to get out of a jam, they still spat out their silver spoons that they had in their mouths from birth. I wonder if what the new connect said to Tariq about ghost solving a problem before it became one alluded at least in part to Tariq getting into the drug game instead of living the good life ghost did all that dirt to achieve?

Remember, although you're rooting for him, he's still the bar guy and there's no happy ending for him.

I just can’t see Tariq falling in the end. He’s being losing since book 2 started. He was up for a moment then back to square one. I think he might go through another loss, like Tasha for example. But since it’s an older and different Tariq, he will deal with this death differently. And may even go out looking for instant revenge like the ghost and Raina situation.

I don’t think Salim’s murder is going unpunished. Somebody’s going to jail for that one. It might not be Tariq himself but somebody is getting framed for it at the very least.

Monet is a horrible parent etc etc. The mvp of this season so far is Pinky

After Seasons 1&2, in my opinion, the storylines in PowerBook: Ghost started making less sense. And the writers drop or kill of the interesting characters without any follow up… What happened to RSJ, Tate, and no one is coming after Tariq after all of the bodies he’s been dropping? No main character will die other than Noma & Dru. Diana has twins symbolizing the death of Rena and Dru Effie kills Brayden's gf Noma dies from ______. It'll make sense but the character is wild

Tariq shooting Salim was bad but him not making sure he was dead so he couldn't testify that Tariq shot him was so dumb. Also if Salim survive and considering 🤔 how rich and connected Salim white parents are Tariq might end up lock up for 25 to life this time

Since this is the last season the only logical way to end it is for Tariq to die. We just need to wait to see who does it and how.

People keep forgetting that it was Kanan who taught Tariq the game because Jukebox told him it was the best way to hurt Ghost.

Salim most definitely looks dead, but he didn't get a definitive kill shot. I won't be surprised if he is still alive.

Salim is not a street guy, he is from a regular nice family in connecticut so there would inevitably be some kind of police investigation into their sons death. Also, Ghost had a pretty clear cut sense of morals - he wouldn't kill anyone in law enforcement or civilians (which he later back tracked on when he killed the prison guard and Terry Silver) but throughout most of his career he stuck to it, as that would generate unwanted attention from law enforcement which is not something any career criminal would want. So Tariq clearly isn't smart - sure, his dad had an affair and lied to him about what his job was, but that was to protect him. Not that Riq has that much longer left to live (if both of the present day spin offs are ending) but I think Anya would actually be the best partner for him. Similar to him, she has also been lied to her entire life about what her parents were doing. Diana and Effie are raised around crime and poverty from day one, and Lauren is from a (fairly) wealthy or at least decent family but her parents both had legitimate jobs so she has never been around anything like that, and this means he doesn't fully connect with any of them. This will sound like a very silly comparison, but since America is a very segregated country, this is likely why all of Drakes ghetto girlfriends keep leaving him - they want someone who can 'connect' with who they are and while Drizzy may have the looks and money, his suburban personality and upbringing doesn't align with theirs and they feel he is too pretentious.
