Hey Tayo, you can usually find stacks on the Shard exchange if you don't have guildies or friends to hook you up. Also while you are trying to build up essenes, I recommend deconstructing all your trash loot. Might take you a few months to build up essences, but if there's no other option then that's one :-)

Hey Jody, I just logged in to check this and it's working fine for me, I just crafted a 23% chance with and without a booster. Double check that your level ranges are set to show everything. You might need to manually set them because by default it may not be showing very low % chance shards.

yup still works unless it was stealth changed in the past month or so.

As a vet myself I can confirm that you do get essences from playing the game, chests occasionally drop some. You can also use an item dissolver in the cannith crafting hub to turn unwanted unnamed weapons, armor and accessories into essences. I find that the majority of my essences comes from this later source. Cannith challenge reward ingredients can also be turned into bags of cannith essences though from experience this a terrible way to generate essences but if you are desperate for a few essences to finish up a item that is also an option.

@@vooduspyce so here are tge results : Level 196 after 5 hrs Details Below A lot of the 5 hrs was preparation. Switching between 22 characters and realocating resources. I apparently had a character who had reached 6th level and had to convert about 4000 of the old essences of various types. I bought the 35% booster and 100% xp and went to work. I actually ran out of essences but Getting from level 6 to 196 took less than 20 mins if you exclude prep time. Thanks a bunch. I should hit 300 over the weekend.

I created a new character and went into House C crafting hall, but I still do not see what tutorial you are talking about in House C. Excuse my "noobness".

Hi John, "Force Burst" is a crit-based effect on some DDO weapons but is not something that can be crafted. With Cannith crafting you can add force damage starting with 1d6 per hit on a level 1 crafted weapon, up to 7d6 per hit on a level 30 crafted weapon. hey UncleMoon, 191 isn't bad with 11k essences. You just need to get to about 275 now with the rebalance they removed the power level 31-34 shards so can craft everything for self with level 275 plus the freebie 25% boosters. Spend a couple weeks crunching stuff and make your final push. you'll get there then that's all you need :-)

why the rush?

Yep and you'll need more than 10k essences to get all the way to 300 from zero. About 25k +/- depending on the success boosters and crafting xp pot that you use. But 10k will get you a very good start and put you in a place where you can craft a lot of stuff, making it worthwhile to start sooner rather than later. Shared bank is a very important function in DDO if you have multiple toons. Most likely you will pull loot on a toon that you want to move over to another. I would strongly encourage e1 to at least buy the basic shared bank when it goes on sale. For a new player without essences I would recommend for your first 1-30 life that you deconstruct all your junk loot, which crunches it to essences. Doing this during a 1-30 life will get you to about level 100 just from deconstructing junk loot alone. By then you should have a stack of essences to work with and you can start your quick leveling routine from level 100ish using the essences you crunched during your first life. This is the approach I used in my Northwynd True First and True Second Life video series. By the time I finished the second life on that toon, using nothing from the store and only what I could find and farm, I made it to about level 300. Using store items I could've made faster progress. if you don't want to wait and build up your own stack of essences, you can usually find 10k stacks of them on the shard exchange for about 50+/- shards a stack depending on your server. one or two stacks of those would get you very significant progress. @@vooduspyce Are you aware of the Cannith Essence farming technique? I don't recommend it for those who dislike grindy stuff, but if you need a bang of essences quickly it can really do the trick. Quest: House Cannith Challenge - Kobold Island: Short Cuts/Disruptor (either on Epic) Technique: Players split up and rush to large extractors killing red named. Each red named killed puts a "Chest" into inventory for all players in instance. It's been a while but iirc once you have 3+ people each red named gives 2 chests in inventory. So just run in, kill red named, and TP/recall out. Rinse and repeat until your bags are full of "Chests". If you have alts you can double/triple/etc.. up but its still much faster with at least 2 others who can each take a named. Obviously run it on highest level you can for better iLevel loot and thus more essences per item. Because the chests are not "normal" they never ransack. Farm until your eyes bleed.

He literally explains how to do it without spending a penny, and in his example he uses the free crafting boosters and still gets to level 169. But of course it's going to be a little faster if you buy the 35% boosters with DDO points. Obviously.

Hey William, 10k isn't all you need but but 10k gets you real progress and puts you in a place to craft awesome stuff. With just a few thousand essences on Hardcore season 5 I leveled up to nearly 200 on a first lifer and I could crafted great useful stuff. Keep dissolving essences and in a few weeks you'll be able to make another push. You never lose crafting levels so you only go up from where you are now. Things are mostly the same but one thing that's different is the power level 31-34 shards are gone, so about level 270 is all you need now to be able to craft everything for yourself. If store investments are taxing you, just get the freebies from the tutorial in the house K crafting hall. They are bta so can do on all alts or a new toon and transfer to your crafter through shared bank. It's kind of tedious and not quite as good as the store stuff but it's free. The store stuff is just about getting best efficiency from your essences. Keep dissolving your junk loot and before you know it you'll have so many essences you won't know what to do with them. In this video I show the progress and the really cool stuff I crafted on hardcore just using what I could find over the course of a few weeks.
