This was really cool! Beautiful piece of paradise! When i was a trail maintainer and wilderness ranger for the US forest service in the Gila during the early 90s, there was a contingent of wilderness travelers that thought if you lay your turd out on the open ground and pack out or burn your toilet paper that the suns uv rays breaks down not only the structural aspect of the turd but also eventually kills the bad guys in the turd as well. I say anything is possible…. Except that!!! You gotta bury that thing in 4-6 inches of soil. Thats where the microbes are that will eat it up. When i was a drinkin man i used to do some volunteer trailwork every 6 months here kinda close to home and i would poop in the same place every time and every time that poop was gone! Pretty cool! We used to tear it up pretty good at night after the work was done!😉 Great video there dude! Thanks for filmin and thanks for bringin up proper poop tips for the woods! NQU

That's a great story, haha. I'll bet you have a LOT more like it if you spent time working as a ranger too. And yes, we should all be burying our turds. Thanks a lot for checking out the video. I'm really glad you liked it.

hello. Awesome video, I am at Phillip Edward all the time, got some nice videos there myself: that moon shot at 15:10 was unreal. I am sitting here in my bed watching, waiting until next summer. The atmosphere can only be understood when you’re out there on the bay!

That area is on my bucket list, fantastic trip! Great job on filming, you captured the beauty, wildness and serenity of the place. :) So true about leaving feces on the site, wish people would just not do that. I was on an overnight backpacking trip once and when I get into camp, I always do camp clean up first. Well, there was a cookie sheet beside the tenting area that had a pot on it which was upside down. I don't think I have to tell ya what I found when I lifted up that pot. I was so mad, what kinda person does that? I can sort of laugh about it now but it was surely not funny at all at the time. Beer and pancakes, breakfast of champions! Enjoyed your take on modern day pemmican! Thanks for sharing your wonderful trip. :) :)

Thank you for watching, Jacqueline. I'm glad you enjoyed it. And that is an appalling story but these things happen out here. And PEI (the Ontario one!) is a stunningly beautiful area, especially on the exposed side of Georgian Bay with the uncountable islands and shoals. Just keep a weather eye on the horizon!

The Ontario PEI is one of my favourite spots 😊. I have paddled the area extensively but by sea kayak - this year we did the Hens & Chickens, Foxes, & Bustards. We have also kayaked the Minks, McCoys, Franklin .. It is a very special place. Let me know if you want any suggestions for campsites, etc. Great video !

Thanks! I would definitely appreciate suggestions. I would definitely look to do a longer trip and get out to more of those further islands. It was such an incredible experience that I'm absolutely wanting to discover more of!

“Like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli” - classic! But not one reference to Jebus?!? Wtf Chris?! 😅 Super great video - thank you for sharing - another place I’ll need to explore. Got to say that the “bow cam” pieces of video was reminiscent of the intro to Saving Private Ryan - the beach landing - felt sea sick just watching - lol. Cool that you’re also learning about the environment in which you explore - it’ll add greatly to your experiences. Cheers, Craig

Awesome route! I'll pass on that "pemmican" though 😂 sorry to hear some people aren't respecting the land there. I usually try to mark the spot where I've dug a hole with sticks in an x so no one else digs there.

I'm not sure I'd be rushing to put it on a restaurant menu myself 😂... as for the other thing, it often kind of comes with the territory in easily accessible crown land areas, sadly.

Great Video! Can you dig cat holes on the rock islands or do you have to pack-out?
@WindWaterandPine
@WindWaterandPine 11 ай бұрын
Thank you! I would say it depends on the size and vegetation cover of the rock island, some of them you probably could find a spot, others might be trickier… There is the odd site that has a thunder box out there, but you can’t count on it.

I'm liking your vids here. And the the one with the rangers was a great idea. When you do phillip edward loop, is there enough decent trees for food hangs or is a food barrel on the ground? I'm doing French to Bay to Killarney interior in a week or so. figured first and third had trees but didnt know about the island chain. ty

I’m really glad you’re enjoying them! For the islands I would say it depends. Some of the sites have decent trees to hang, some don’t. Myself, I had the food barrel on the ground for all of it and personally felt comfortable with that. That’s a fantastic sounding trip, I will for sure be planning something like it next time I’m out that way in order to get maximum time exploring the bay.

@@WindWaterandPine ty. just curious what length canoe u were on. Outfitter said nothing less than 17 ft out there to me. Love the Costanza "soup at a deli" quote. Was thinking about that one for some reason a day ago.
