In this video I go over all of the cantrips in Baldur's Gate 3 and put them in a tierlist. This is my personal ranking of the cantrips in the game.

UPDATE: After some more time to think about it and some helpful comments, I've decided to move Fire Bolt to the end of A tier due to the environmental effects.

Resistance can be used in some dialogue checks to prevent the need to use bless in dialogue.

I already disagree about fire bolt, you didn't take into account the environmental effects. Should at least be on the same level as bone chill

Bladeward has 1 particular niche for me. A lv 7 eldritch knight can cast a cantrip and then do an attack as a bonus action, giving the eldritch knight low AC and casting this whilst still smacking something could make for a useful damage sponge. This way my eldritch knight saved me in tough fights by taking heat

i definitely think Ray of Frost should be high A tier o because if wet it also gets the same double damage that shocking grasp gets as well as creates a slippery surface for enemies to slip and become prone on.

I'd put Firebolt in A tier, since it can detonate Gunpowderbarrels, which are very strong! And Ray of Frost is also very good. If the enemy is standing in water, you can freeze the ground, which is very helpful!

Bladeward works with metamagic extended, which is great actually on a more defensive sorcerer build that uses armor of agathys (white dragon ancestry) and other similar spells because then its 4 turns and justify it's cost of one action and one sorcery point.

Tbh i think Sacred Flame sucks ass, misses or gets saved against more often than it doesn't. Yeah it can do a lot of damage early but if it never hits it doesn't matter. Certainly some situational use with Radiating Orb but still, there are better sources of Radiant damage going into act 2. I'd also put Fire Bolt and Ray of Frost up there with Bone Chill, Fire Bolt because environmental effects as others have mentioned and Ray of Frost because it's got some really good item synergies. That said though this is just as they are i think, you could do a whole other tier list including item/build variations. Good video as always.

I really like sacred flame cause u can put raidiant orb on enemies , I am doing a cryomancer type build so I also am higher on ray of frost , keep up the content 😊

Resistance can be used for saving throws in dialogues, like the drinking check vs Thisobald Thorm.

Acid Splash is S tier for me. I know on paper its weak, but the dice really love that spell during my playthroughs.

To me, it's S-tier even though it could be the same as Sacred flame, because it has Area damage, and even more so, reduces AC on top of its damage.

Dancing lights has a niche use in the sense that it can be used to disable poisonous vents by targeting the cast on them. If you've got more than one spell caster in a comp you're bound to have a lot for it.

Imo atleast I think Shillelagh deserves an A tier atleast because Larion made 2 items specifically for it. Ironvine shield and Ironwood Club. Ironwood club gets a 1d4 extra dice so it becomes a 2-12 +1 club which puts it relatively on par with +1 greatswords. and Ironvine Shield does wisdom modifier in piercing damage as return damage against melee attacks.

"produce flame" has a bigger light radius than "light" and also lasts until a long rest with no concentration so it's better and you get the option to throw the flame too. Also remember that light only works on one object at a time so usually when you cast it on yourself your melee weapon will glow but if you switch to your ranged weapon in combat the glow will go away and you lose your advantage and vice versa soo i'd say produce flame deserves S tier. Nice video though!
