The rugal ending seems like a nice touch to snk fans. The orochi power did the same thing to him in the end.

So in the end Rugal was not strong enough to handle both Orochi and Satsui no Hado, whilst Akuma was deemed worthy of handling the same energies. That gives a big hint at who's actually the strongest...

So the story behind akuma’s ending is the orochi carried akuma off but akuma still seemed to be resisting it’s control. The story behind Rugal’s ending is Rugal lost control of akuma’s extraordinary power and like what happens when this happens to akuma, a true demon is born. Rugal became the satsui no hado itself, an oni.

You know what I just realized. Capcom really went above and beyond on how Akuma was handled here. Out of all crossovers he's been featured in, he was presented as undefeatable. X-Men vs Street Fighter: They had to make a robot version of him. Marvel vs Capcom 3: He bodied the entire roster in his ending. Street Fighter x Tekken: Doesn't really count, since you had to pick one of the other for their "victory." Even Tekken 7: His matches with the Mishima's had to be interrupted for the sake of plot. Capcom vs SNK 2 at the time did something unique. They looked at both Akuma AND Rugal and went "Hey, what if we not only SHOW the audience that they've fought, but one of them *DIES.* " Giving me the impression that to this day, Rugal was the ONLY CHARACTER/BOSS that was worthy enough to not only BEAT Akuma, but *KILL* him. At least until you know.... The Satsui No Hado wasn't having it with him, and took over.

Rugal when he is defeated reminds me of when my body couldn't handle all the muscle I accumulated while working out. I had very good developed muscle and could pick myself up with both feet on the floor without jumping. However, I did not manually breath when I was working out doing 100 push ups daily. Terrible breathing. Then came the "fuck it's so hard to sit down and breath. I feel like my heart is going to explode. I feel like my lungs are sweating or releasing water into my heart or something...." After resting for so long like 2+ years I feel normal once again. Moral of the story, the first ever workout you should ever attempt before any other workout is breathing in and out all the time until you do it without saying "it's so annoying" or "I'm tired of this." Once that's complete "the evolution" will become a reality..... Nnnnnot stroooong enough....

Man this game was something special. Bought it for my PS2 right off the shelf, back then you automaticay knew if it was from Capcom it was worth your money. But the joke was on them, these games were actually pricless treasures, and to think we used to pick these up often for well under $50.00. We'll never get that amazing time back.

Afterall all this years, I'm still unsure what trigger Akuma or Rugal as final boss. Some says is the charas you use, others say (I believe that) the groove you use... If that's the case, which groove trigger which boss?

I had to come back here after seeing what Street Fighter 6 handled Akuma turning into Shin Akuma. In Street Fighter 6 Akuma turns into Shin Akuma by eating a riceball. A RICEBALL!😑

I 1ce unlocked a boss battle w. S. Akuma while using Yuri & I didn't used simple specials(GameCube) but I didn't know how I accomplished this & I still have no clue what I did right & I also lost but it was still fun!😊

Yo I can’t be crazy, Every video I look up don’t have his game play, I clearly remember my brother’s friend unlocking him by beating that boss rush mode, he said he used Akuma and he defeated everyone by Raging Demon on everyone meaning he had to win with a super no matter what to unlocking him, Bro if my PS2 still work I can show but I need a power cable for it, I really don’t know why no one has shown him, People say he’s a mugen character but dude I clearly remember playing as him, he took up the middle spot where the character randomizer and his character icon was basically the secret ending scene portrait, if I remember his moves set it was half of Rugal and akuma, he had Akumas hadoken, air hadoken and shoryuken but no Tatsumaki, & for Rugals was that upward slash kick, that move where he slams you to the wall and that soul absorbing move, also that phasing ability they both do, I don’t remember his ultimate moves tho I don’t think my brother knew them, my brother’s friend was the one who did all the work I just remember coming back home from school and this guy was defeating everyone on that boss rush and he always ended everyone with Raging Demon and then when he was done he just said “alright you got everyone” and then boom that character is right there in middle of everyone in the roster. Idk how else I can explain
