It is a record of traveling by ferry from Kagoshima to Naha in Okinawa.
I went through headquarters on Amami Oshima, Tokunoshima, Okinoerabujima, Yoronjima, and Motobu in the main island of Okinawa.
I boarded the Marix Line's "Queen Coral Cross" first class room.
It was a very comfortable voyage because the ship just entered service in 2021.
The timetable is as follows.
6:00 p.m. Departure from Kagoshima Port
5:50 am Departure from Naze Port on Amami Oshima
9:40 am Departure from Kametoku Port on Tokunoshima
Depart from Wadomari Port on Okinoerabu Island at midnight
2:10 p.m. Departure from Yoron Island
5:10 p.m. Departure from Motobu Port on the main island of Okinawa
7:00 p.m. Arrive at Naha Port
Details of dinner and breakfast on board, access to Kagoshima Port and access from Naha Port are also introduced.
The fare was 31650 yen including fuel surcharge.
Please watch the video for details!

@@capsulejapan well CJ if you ever make Scotland I'll gladly take you around. We don't have big long ferry trips like you but I can certainly take you on some amazing jaunts and ferry trips, and boat hurls to beautiful places here. In fact when you're out and about on your wanders taking us it's amazing how much Japan countryside looks like Scotland. My all time fav boat trip, water and scenery here is the SS Walter Scott on Loch Katrine in the Trossachs. I know many people say Loch Lomond or Loch Ness but for me it's Loch Katrine there's a magical, mystical even spiritual (as in believing in spirits) ambience about the place and probably kinda to do with the history, the Jacobite uprisings, Rob Roy MacGregor's grave and my all time favourite bit to sit at at night on the anniversary of one battle across from Ellen's Isle. Legend has it that during this battle, one of many, that the Redcoats (English) invaded us again and that a group of Redcoats stopped and rested for a while at this part across from just any other island in the loch where the women and children of the village had been taken to safety whilst the men were away fighting. Redcoats seeing and hearing the women decided to go and have their 'bit of fun' so several jumped into the water to swim over and the first Redcoat got to the island and the Chief's wife stood with a Claymore (very large heavy sword) left to her by her husband to defend themselves and with a fierce swipe across his neck chopped his head off, she held it up to the other Redcoats still on their way to the island who quickly about turned making for the mainland again. That lady was called Ellen. Well, a few years ago after working regular night shifts the times when you're off you often can't sleep at night the first night or two so I often went drives to places to sit at the calming waters like at 2am or whatever cos in the countryside it doesn't really get dark dark you can still see the paths, your feet etc aye you can take a torch or whatever but don't really need one and a lit up bit kinda spoils it. Anyway, this night it just happened to be the umpteenth anniversary of this battle (I found out later going during a day there was signboards to read enroute) I just happened to be there one night n it turned out to be the anniversary honestly CJ night time darkness what is it you call it when it's a little bit of a new moon, sine moon, so not lit up lots like a full moon but I swear from where I was sitting across from Ellen's Isle I could hear, not see cos too dark, but I heard a commotion in the water and on the loch banking in the near distance aye I was a wee bit spooked but I still felt calm and safe strangely but I heard voices, splashing, Scottish women shouting from island, English men's voices shouting from just beyond me. When I got home told friends and the next time I was there during the day taking a pal who'd never been we saw signboards along the way stopping to read them and one in particular explained why the island was called Ellen's Island and with the story I just told you and other stuff saying about the legend of how every now and again on anniversary it is said that exactly what I heard that night others have experienced and it's like those historical events reoccur. Far from being scared I feel lucky that I've actually experienced it and I'm so damn proud of Ellen cos that's exactly what I would have done without hesitation. If you're ever here you should pay a visit too even if nowt happens it's such a beautiful place especially in daylight oh aye and the place is famous for witches too during the witch hunts. As for my fav Japan ferry trip it has to be the longest one TF Hokkaido and Nagoya via Sendai it looks amazing. The reason why am rewatching now is when I watched first time round I watched on my iPad but I was unable to sign in so couldn't like to show what ones I'd already watched or comment so making up for it now sorry to bamboozle you now lol.

Thanks for the reply. I have never been to Scotland I have never been to Scotland but it is one of the places I must visit in my life. You will surely find interesting similarities with Japan, which is also an island nation. I am new to SS Walter Scott on Loch Katrine in the Trossachs. Certainly not many Japanese know about it, but this is something more people should know about. Perhaps more should know more about Scotland's unique history and culture, which is different from that of England. Thank you!😸

The "tip of the boat" is called the bow, BTW. The back part is the stern. left side is port, right side is starboard. the middle of the ship is midships. Ropes are called "lines". When they are docking the ship, they are "tying the lines off" to keep the ship docked so it won't drift off the dock. FYI.

Question. If there are 5 stops on this voyage, how do cars leave the ferry if they are all parked together? Do cars for PORT A all park on Deck A, for example? Would that make the ferry unbalanced?
@capsulejapan

thanks for your questions. There are not many cars that this ferry can carry. Up to 30 passenger cars and 44 trucks. This ship has more area for loading cargo than a car. Hi! I will be taking this ferry in a couple months and I had some questions if it's ok. How much money is first class tickets? Do I need to book a ferry ticket in advance or can I just show up at the terminal and buy one? Does it leave at the same time every day? I will be travelling from fukuoka to kagoshima in the day, and then hopefully getting on the ferry in the evening. I'm nervous that I will miss it and need to book a hotel in kagoshima. Thank you for sharing your video :)

It's odd realizing some of Japan's ferries are smaller. After many videos I've seen, I was beginning to wonder if they were all huge. This is the smallest I've seen in a video. The United States only has a few ferries on the coast, and none as nice as any in Japan. We really don't have many trains either. Our choices for travel are to fly or drive. The ferries and trains seem so peaceful compared to what's available here.

Thank you for your interesting comment. This ferry is certainly small. I was reminded of the difference in means of transportation between the United States, which has a vast landmass, and Japan, which is an island nation. I love to travel by ferry, but I'd love to drive across the vast expanse of the United States at unlimited speed just once. It will be a wonderful experience.I'm glad I could share the video with you.😄😄😄🛳️✈️🚗

I wouldn't be happy, as a foreigner, to try to buy beer from a vending machine that needed a Japanese driving licence as proof of ID. What if you don't have a drivers licence with you? Most foreigners would take a ferry voyage as a foot passenger.
@capsulejapan
@capsulejapan Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. You can also buy alcohol at the shop. The store has more varieties. Shops are closed at night. In any case, I also think it's nonsense for a vending machine to ask for an ID. I am happy to share the video with you.😄

@@capsulejapan When I lived in Japan there were alcohol and cigarette machines on every street corner. Young adults (under 20) NEVER abused the system. So it's odd to me to demand ID on a ferry. Perhaps if the driver had a car accident after they leave the ferry, and they had been drinking alcohol, then the police could find out they bought alcohol on the ferry prior to driving, and becoming involved in an accident. I don't trust technology in this way. Drinking and driving should never be allowed, so I hope passengers who are driving will be sensible. Most Japanese are very sensible of course.
@capsulejapan
@capsulejapan Жыл бұрын
@@debbiecurtis4021 Thank you for your comment. I think your opinion is the best. I believe that onboard vending machines ask for identification more to avoid social criticism than to prevent accidents. Either way, it's just an extra step for most people.😄😄

@debbiecurtis4021 Жыл бұрын
@@capsulejapan Asking for ID also tells the computer how much alcohol the consumer is drinking. The machine could then refuse to sell the passenger / consumer more alcohol, if the machine thinks they drank enough already. This could be good to stop dangerous situations of passengers getting drunk and causing problems, or falling overboard. I hope this is never applied to chocolate vending machines.
