What's up everyone! Today we're watching the "Captain Marvel reaction." I absolutely love Carol Danvers. Carol and Nick Fury's friendship was so fun to watch, they gave me such buddy cop feels throughout the movie. Oh and seeing Nick Fury young and starting out in SHEILD and getting the idea of the Avengers Initiative was amazing. Plus finding out how Nick Fury lost his eye to a space cat named Goose....😭 Ahh this movie was too much. I can't wait to see Carol join our Avengers and work to destroy Thanos. Thank you all so much for watching my "Captain Marvel reaction" and commentary! I hope you all enjoyed it and I can't wait to see you all in the Avengers Endgame reaction! Take care!

33 MCU movies. I think top ten is more realistic - imo of course. And yes, Brie did an excellent job - she shows us more with a little face expression than many hysterical and overacting actresses, who were often a bit overrated.

I love the bit with Mr. Postman at 41:00. There’s just something so endlessly charming to me about how Carol’s superhero name comes from a goofy, intimate little conversation she and her friend had once while washing dishes. This movie’s full of unassuming little human touches like that.

I'm so happy to see Captain Marvel getting the recognition that it deserves. This movie is actually so good but by the time it came out people were so obsessed in finding something to hate about it, specially Brie Larson only because she knew how powerfull her character is and didn't retreated to the media that, as always, criticized the character for the simple fact that she was a woman I remember watching in the theaters and everyone was just screaming and happy during the whole film and right after i got back home i was shocked of the ammount of hate that Brie was getting for absolutly no reason Right now i'm just happy to see people finally seeing Carol for what she is, a strong, funny, amazing and badass character that in less than one hour became my favorite character for life ** for the record, i'm not saying that the movie is perect, it has it's issues with writing and specially release time but still a great film

I loved Ms. Marvel during the 1970's. She had her own comic book. She got her powers before her comic book (from Captain Mar-Vel), and she has a very long, convoluted history in the comic books, which included her changing her name to Captain Marvel sometime after the real Mar-Vel's death (he died of cancer, yes, HE), which long convoluted history I was glad wasn't in the movie. You get to watch this with fresh eyes, not burdened by knowledge of what the character went through and all the name changes between Ms. Marvel and Captain Marvel. Fun fact, Brie and Samuel are friends in real life, from what I've heard, so the chemistry between them in this movie is real. Great reactions!

I really appreciated how the movie changed things from the comics and instead of the Skrulls as a whole being a villainous race they are now more nuanced and sympathetic. Still antagonistic for part of the film (ad elsewhere in the MCU) but Talos has relatable motivations and becomes an ally in the end.

Captain Marvel is my fave hero, since mid 90’s and I’m so so happy Brie is killing it! The Marvels develops her character a lot and There’s so much more to show! Great react

While Captain Marvel has never been my favourite character and the movie isn't the best the MCU has to offer, it didn't deserve all the hate it got. Some people acted like it was the worst movie in the history of cinema and Brie Larson was the devil incarnate, when the reality is that it's a mid-tier MCU movie, better than some but worse than others, and Brie's performance was fine. She's not outstanding, but there are plenty of worse actors out there.

She actually plays Carol rather well. In the comics what really makes Carol shine are her friendships, with other women in particular. The MCU is just getting around to exploring all of that. As far as the writing goes, I don’t think they spent enough time on how the Kree were in her head. She was kinda rebellious the whole time, but they wanted us to take it as though her breaking free from their control was this big thing. Might have been the director, or editing. People talk about “bad writing” all the time and never get into specifics.

I never understood the hate, either. Quite a few of the reactions, like The Critical Drinker, Nerdrotic all think this move was all about She power and had no plot nor development. Excuse me, there was plenty of development. The scenes of Carol as a child in this move came from the comics, where she was put down just because she was a girl. This is the source of her inner strength, her drive to succeed, and it's innate in humanity of either gender. What threw me was the Skrulls in this move weren't villains like they were in the comic books.

The month after Stan passed, DC Comics (the competition) had full page tributes to him in every comic they published, (from "The Distinguished Competition," as he always used to call them.) It was really nice to see.

I love this movie so much despite all the hate it got and I think Brie did a good job with it as well. I love her chacater in this movie and how she finds out about herself and her powers as well. She is a powerful woman and I like that about her. The cat is cute but dangerous haha. Grate reaction as always. You missed a poast credit scene where Goose throws up the cube so he is just fine.

an underrated Marvel show i'd love to see you react to is Marvel's Runaways!! it ran from 2017-2019 so you're in the right time frame for it MCU-wise. it does have little tie ins to the main MCU movies however i believe it got cancelled before they could properly introduce a solid connection :(

This was a middle-of-the-pack MCU movie, not the greatest but far from the worst. Brie Larson's performance was rather one-note, but that fit perfectly for someone with no memories of their home planet, no emotional connections, and who'd been trained to suppress any emotion because the Kree considered it weakness. Just before this movie was released, Kevin Feige stated that Captain Marvel would be the most powerful superhero shown onscreen yet. So by the end of this movie she's quite OP. Up next... ENDGAME!!

Nick Fury has been a skrull in the interview since Avengers age of Ultron because in that movie they specifically show him eating bread cut diagonally and the reason he was a skrull because he was so injured in Captain America The Winter soldier.

I was just about to say why everyone was going after brie larson but you stopped me. Let's just say what happened gad nothing to do with the movie. The hate came from from something else. But the hate wasn't warranted just little boys with hurt egos. I like this movie.

I think this movie is hindered by the fact that Brie Larson can't really have Carol's full personality because she doesn't know who she is. And also the structure of it is kind of strange. I think someone people who knew Vers was Carol Danvers--you reall just need to have read only one comic ever--it was kind of annoying to sit through most of the movie waiting to get to that reveal. But then I also feel like it wasn't made for those of us who are comics fans already. It was more for the mainstream (and particularly a younger female) audience to see the first female-led MCU movie. So I'll be interested to see how people who saw it when they were 11 or 12 think about it in like 2028.

ETA: Goose is fine! I think you missed the last post credit scene where he coughs up the tesseract like a hairball? He lives longer than a regular cat. He is in "The Marvels" but I don't think he's in Endgame. This is the first MCU movie to come out after Stan Lee's passing (though he did not create Carol Danvers). But Endgame was shot back-to-back with Infinity War. And Brie Larson actually had to play Carol in Endgame first, before her own movie.

Ms Marvel (Captain Marvel) was introduced in 1968 and whilst an important character in Marvel was never a super popular one. 9 years after her introduction she had a short run of 2 years, her next 4 year run was 27 years later. I never really got attached to her, her most famous story line was one where she lost her powers. I think it was a tough task what Brie Larson was given. Both Black Panther & Captain Marvel (54% audience score before it hit theatres) making it harder. Compared to the comic character I much prefer Brie's interpretation. My biggest disappointment is with the mostly white men (like me) that struggle to appreciate diversity (& female leads), the fact that they are scared of fictional women says a lot more about them than it does this movie & shame on them, great reaction again
