Sometimes it is easier to do a viedo and explain things than to send photos with text. What do you think? Do you know of a really smooth fire kiln paper? Most of my fused glass is cracking, have any suggestions?

Microwave Turntable Coupler Support Glass Tray Drive Coupling Replacement. Have you ever had one of these melt doing glass fusion? I have to replace mine in less than a month. Think they make them which will not melt?

I'm pretty sure it has to do with uncontrolled heating and cooling.

I cannot find the video I had asked you about cookie cutter used in glass fusion, Do you have any suggestions, mine are terrible so far.

@@CaptMike I have seen videos of people using the small cookie cutters as molds for microwave glass fusing. I have tried it, but the result as not too good, the glass results are rough. I thought you may have a suggestion about how better to use them. Do you know if they make a smooth kiln paper?

@@raysanders332 I use Bulleye and don't know if there is a smoother one. I have not tried the cookie cutter trick, but it is a good idea if the results work out,. I woould try to fire first in a regular kiln where one can control the temps nd see if it is possible then from there try to work it out in a microwave kiln.

@@CaptMike I am going to try and line the inside of the cookie cutters with kiln wash and bake it on and see if that works. If that does not work just let it dry the try it.

How long does it take for microwave fused glass to cool?

Usually 30 to 45 minutes. Never really timed it.

@@raysanders332 I have used cookie cutters for cutting out things in clay, but cannot remember how I did/would use one for glass fusing.

@@CaptMike You line the inside of the cookie cutter with the fire paper then pile glass into it and fuse it. The problem I am having is cracking during or afterward and the pieces are rough around the edges.

Ray, "Kiln Cookies"are simply round bisque clay "cookies" of various sizes. I make them all the time. Just roll out some clay, preferably mid to high fire about 3/8 inches thick, cut them to size, square or round. Fire them and coat them with kiln wash. Easy peasy. They will fit (depending on the size) under whatever you glaze and keep the glaze from sticking to the kiln shelf. Hope this helps.
