Great info, my BMW attracts surface rust like crazy on the rotors, I don't live near the beach or big city and this is the first car that does this, when I back out in the morning especially after rain and the car sets for a few days it sounds like rubbing bare metal until I drive for a few, any ideas what causes the rust to appear all the time and or how I can get rid of it, ty

That's completely normal to occur on most all cars that happens. Nothing to worry about 👍 It's just a very light surface rust because the metal cant be coated or covered on the braking surface

That could just be new pads and rotors breaking in and mating to eachother. If doesn't go away in a couple weeks of normal driving take back to shop and see if they can figure out. Should just be the news pads and rotors though 👍

Mine seems to do it when i get to 60 mph and after a few minutes it starts then goes away when pressing the brake??

I would take suspected brake noise wheel off and check it out, can run car on jackstands carefully and try and replicate as well if cant find cause with just inspecting. Sounds like brakes could be dragging possibly

My car is makimg a noise like something is stuck .the car is new and has a free maintance plan on it so i called to get it checked it out but its next free spot is in june....can i wait it out or should i go to an other garage and pay it out of my pocket?

If car is new and is still under warranty or extended manufacturers warranty just take in to dealer early in morning to service department on your day off as a walk in. They should be able to fix it quick. Sounds like minor issue.

Sometimes they grind a little when theyre brand new til the pada seat to the rotors. Shouldnt be super loud though just kind of quiet scraping. Sometimes they just make noise regardless, some pads are a lot louder than others too

I would take it back to shop that did the work. Sounds like pads may be dragging.

Dead nuts on. My frt. brakes were making a crunching sound after a replacement , by myself , did not lube the slide pins . Voiala ,fixed after lubing , thanks ,very helpful .Big high 5

Could just be 1 rotor thats warped or 1 caliper causing issue

Usually means they're out of round/warped. I would replaced if older or have machined if high quality and newer

I’ve got a great trick? . I own a 03 Camry LE and I just did a front brake job on it back last year and I’ve noticed a gradual grind noise on the front passenger side when I hit the brakes and it sounds like metal to metal. So I take it apart and the pads are still smooth and the rotor is smooth. They are not oem pads either. It’s only the front passenger side. I even washed the caliper off when I removed it from the car. Still makes the same noise

Found out both rotors are out of factory specifications so I’m having to replace both of them.

If your brake rotor isn't completely flat, or if the surface of the hub isn't completely flat, the resulting run-out will eventually wear the rotors into being warped. We're talking 0.003in of tolerance. I've also redone brakes that got noisy because one clip was bent. I accidentally pushed the caliper down against the same clip when redoing the brakes so I suspect that was how it got messed up... at the factory.

I would check the brake pads, they may be worn to the point the wear indicator is touching rotor and making it squeak

@@divitmahendroo657 sometimes its just the new pads seating to the rotors. If you can pinpoint which wheel it is you could double check the work done make sure looks all good. That's what I've had to do before 👍 ohh and sometimes depending on the brand of pads/material they can make more noise like ceramic vs semi metallic

@@JonnyDIY this car also had a front end collision which resulted in no physical damages but had the whole suspension and drivetrain trashed and replaced, it using the wheel bearings because the car doesn’t shudder when stopping, all breaks and rotors replaced and the noise is still persistent and I don’t know what to do about it,
