I had severe preeclampsia also and my dr did a c-section at 32 weeks. One little guy stayed in the NICU for 6 weeks! It was the longest 6 weeks of my life because we didn’t have the option of staying at the hospital. We drove 1 1/2 hours every other day to see him.

I cried when you spoke about having ro let her grand parents see her thru the car window. Im 32w5d & if this virus keeps going that will most likely be how i introduce my son to his great grandma and all his aunties on my fathers side and its just soo sad. They are the only family i know and im only 21 so having their help would really be amazing. Its just sad to think how different my experience will be than the experiences ive seen others have.

Ace was so cute when he tilted his head! I was worried about introducing my dog to the baby, so we had to take it really slow at first. Now I feel pretty comfortable. As a new mom I can’t help buy worry... a lot! lol So glad you got to bring your precious baby home! My son was a NICU baby too, but he was born at 37 weeks, so he was only in for 2 weeks. But he had a feeding tube, chest tube, and cpap for the first week. I remember the day we brought him home and it was all so surreal. I was not prepared for the nights lol With so many nurses taking care of him at the hospital, it was definitely an adjustment at home. So glad I found your channel and can’t wait to see more of your family’s journey! 😊❤️

She is adorable. So excited that she is going home so quickly and that she didn’t suffer any complications from being born at 33 weeks. I was born at 34 weeks and was also blessed not to have any complications which was a huge deal back in 1965 when most premature babies didn’t get to go home due to complications of being born too soon. My sister who is 5 years older than me was born at 32 weeks following a difficult pregnancy with possible multiple babies. I say that because my mother had 2 episodes during which the doctor said that she was having a miscarriage and she had heavy bleeding and passed clots and a fetus and yet she was still pregnant. The only way for them to have really found out was through an X-ray and they wouldn’t do them on a pregnant woman unless her life was at risk. At 32 weeks she gave birth to my sister and because the hospital wasn’t equipped for premature babies so she would have to be taken to children’s hospital in Philadelphia which was 2 hours away. Not sure why they didn’t send her there in an ambulance, but instead a nurse road in the back seat of my father’s car holding the baby in her arms along with my Grandma while my Grandpa drove and Dad sat in the front passenger seat . The only thing the NICU did was put in a feeding tube and help regulate her body temperature. She weighed 4lb. and 3 Oz. at birth but dropped down to 3lb. 12oz. Once she hit 5 pounds she got to go home. Mom had feed her on a strict schedule and weigh her each day. A nurse came by to check on her weekly and a doctor came every 2 weeks until they were satisfied that she was thriving and not at risk anymore. It’s amazing how different things are now and how far they have come in helping premature babies who wouldn’t have had a chance before can now survive and live a normal life with little or no complications especially those who barely weigh a pound. Keeping you and your precious daughter in my prayers. I am a new subscriber having recently had your video be on my recommendation list. If you don’t have a deep freezer to store your breast milk you might want to consider getting one because you can store it in a deep freezer for over a year. I was blessed with a huge milk supply which was amazing because my daughter was never able to get a good latch with her tiny mouth and how huge my breasts got during pregnancy and once my milk came in. Strong let-down and my nipples that look fine until baby’s mouth put pressure on it and it inverted making it harder to form a latch. I didn’t get the help I needed while in the hospital or afterwards when I went for a lactation consultation. Nothing they suggested worked and no one mentioned a nipple shield which would have provided a nipple for her to latch onto. So I decided to pump and feed her it in a bottle. Worked for us and I did it for over 18 months.

Awe Ace with his paw, he’s like ya bring her down here lol. We’ve been in the NICU 3 weeks today & we get to come home in a couple days!! She does have to be on oxygen & im freaking out that’s why Im watching you’re older premie videos first because I have no clue what to do with a premie.

I remember the tar poopy diapers. My son was born full term, however he didnt hold his milk down, so we stayed 8 days in hospital. His large intestine would close up while feeding and when it would open up he would throw everything up. It was stressful, but we got through it. Stay calm like you are therew ill be days and then there will be days of joy.

I am a twin! We are 3 minutes apart! My sister was 2 pound's and I was 4 pound's! My family is always talking about how small we were! Quinn is such a beautiful baby! Love your videos ❤️

hi Cara, I love how you and your husband handled Ace. Ace did very well considering Quinn is a new addition to the family! His head tilt was priceless! As new first time parents don't be hard on yourselves. I remember in the hospital I just stared at my son for what seemed to be forever when the nurse said, how about feeding him now, and I was like - oh yeah, I guess I should. LOL....I was just mesmerized with what we created, I couldn't stop staring at my first born. beautiful vlog!!
