I have this exact amp. I love it! Worth every penny! Door speakers and sub run on 2ohms so needless to say they’re loud and hit hard and sounds amazing after being finely tuned on the DSP. Used Audio Control RTA SA-4140i as well.

I'm very happy with my Audison AP F8.9. 8 channels of output, 85w per at 4 ohm, 150w per at 2 ohm, or bridged for 300w into 4 ohm. It's got a built in DSP as well.

This is a great amp, I just wish they made a lower wattage version of it for cars with smaller alternators and smaller budgets for lower RMS speakers.

you dont need lower rms power. you basically NEVER use all of the power. i've seen videos of 2000watt rms systems at full tilt only pulling like 50amp peaks. also i use a 1000w RMS amplifier with a 50amp fuse because i wanted to see if i would pull more than 50amps. and nope, been fine a few weeks now. the only situation where you would pull full rated rms power would be playing pinknoise and turning it up to clipping. playing music even on LOUD levels, you dont really pull much.

u literally sold this amp to me, going to use it for my system i'll build. i got the new 22 wrx so its going to be very custom to run off the stock head unit. all materials for this upgraded sound system will come out to be $4,700, thats sound deadener, speakers, wiring, subs, everything, 3 subs btw, an upgraded one in the rear center deck and 2 under the driver and passenger seats! can't wait till i get all these in the mail. I'll be making a video on my channel through the process. AND i sent you (CARAUDIO) an email asking for some pointers!

I’m using this amp in a 2019 Accord running all Kicker audio: KS Components up front, KS Coaxials in the Rear and a 12” CompR in the trunk. It’s been absolutely great and by making my own T-Harness, I was able to use most of the factory wiring without having to cut or splice any of it. Only thing I couldn’t use were the tweeter wires because the new ones went to the crossovers instead of straight to the deck. Absolutely recommend this amp for a clean sounding and clean looking setup.

I'm currently using kicker key amps in my 21 accord,, the bass roll off still isn't corrected with the keys and still not getting low frequencies. You feel the d-6.1200 is correcting these issues?

I have a 2015 F-150 with the Sony system. Can I use the Speaker Level Inputs strait from the truck or should I use a converter like the PAC Audio Interface? Are there any significant benefit from either option?

I have been running this amp in my 2020 GTI for just under a year or so. I'm very happy with it. I actually replaced a helix DSP running two JL RD series amps, and I am MUCH happier with this amp. I am running b2 rage components and a b2 rage 12" subwoofer. Sounds great, and slaps pretty good.

I just purchased this amp and 4 speakers from Crutchfield. Also, I am introducing a JL Audio sub I had available. All of it is going into my 2022 Nissan Frontier (no Fender system) and I have a question: my two front speakers are in parallel with the ones on the dash, which I think are not tweeters, but rather really inexpensive little speakers. Since this amp is only 5 chanells, I believe I cannot have front and new tweeters as active, right? I'd need a crossover in both left and right front speakers, right? So it'd be 2 channels for front, 2 channels for rear and the fith for the sub. Am I correct? Thank you so much.

I would run a full active front stage with a Morel Hybrid 2 way component set. A single 12" 2ohm JL TW3. I'd also add an Epicenter micro...just for fun. Rears off deck power. I don't care about rear speakers.

I have a stupid question. I have an older 80s car and want to retain the factory radio but i also want to add the AudioContol acx-bt1. Can i use the bt1 in the line input and factory speakers input at the speaker inputs? If i can how do i switch from one another? Do i just have to shut off my radio to use BT and vice versa?

Thinking about picking this amp , hopefully it will solve my issues. Currently, I am running a factory Harmon Kardon system in my BMW. I added a JL Audio 10w7 Prowedge subwoofer using the Audiocontrol 1.800 subwoofer amp which way more power than I need. That amp has gobs of extra power. Anyway, since I added the subwoofer, the mid-bass is being over shadowed and I mostly hear the low bass notes and they get pretty loud even with the gain turned down and it sounds as something is missing on some songs. So, I was thinking of returning the amp for this one, running the amp in three channels or even 5 channels and amplifier the factory 8 inch mid-bass under the seats and the front mids and tweeters or just the mid-bass and sub. Would love some input if someone has any experience with BMW systems or has run into a similar situation. Would this work? Not sure if the factory mid bass is 4ohm or 8 ohm. I’ve heard that they are 8 ohms.

I have 2 tweeters and a center speaker in dash,2 6×9 in lower front doors,2 tweeters in upper 2nd row doors and 2 6.5 in lower 2nd row panel. And 2 speakers similar to the center speaker in tailgate. How would I amplifying these without buying alot more than I need. I want to use aftermarket speakers, factory head unit and I want to add 1 subwoofer and would really like DSP. Any advice would be appreciated!

It would kinda cool for Audio Control to make a smaller one with lower wattage for smaller vehicles or budget systems. Something like 50x4 @ 4ohms or so

Maybe a bit of a niche question that i will preface with an audio setup: head unit to an equalizer to a 5 channel amp. All connections are RCA until after the amp. Now the question, would it be overkill or could you even see any benefit to keep an in line equalizer in an audio setup with an amp that has a built in DSP? Just kinda curious.

No need for the EQ. Just use the EQ in the DSP amp.

Using a miniDSP in my 2 channels system at home, I'll tell you this: DSP is amazing! My little box in my system is the best upgrade I've had in the audio signal path.

Mark, I have an issue… My youngest son is in my old truck (97 Tacoma xcab) and he has a pioneer double din head unit with only 2 outputs. He’s running my old component set of MB QUARTs in front and some 5-1/4’s in stock locations under rear windows and 2 10’s. He has a 5 channel amp (with sub control knob) but how can I get my separate F/R/Sub signals correctly? Back in the day we would use RCA splitters. It’s just a teens system so he doesn’t care but I’m OCD and I do lol

Split away lol That's how I do stuff. If there's a better way I'm all ears. Not the same scenario but I run 1 set of rcas into an equalizer that splits the output into 3 separate lines for front rear and sub. But I had to split the sub output from the eq to give me 2 identical signals to 2 identical mono amps. Never had an issue.

You should check if the amp has high-level inputs. Then just use the speaker wires out of the head unit.

I am in the market for a new amp today and I came on KZfaq to try and get some ideas of the best new amps in the market and I found it. Thanks to this review I’m locked on buying it and will be doing so in a few minutes. I’m going to get the Bluetooth transmitter for wireless eq access and control for better access to all settings.

So im just running stock head unit with stock amplifier. I want to use the subwoofer woofer control on head unit to control the bass and just run my hertz 1650.3 components active. Can I use high level input for channels 1-4(tweeters 1 and 2, mids 3 and 4) and the input for the sub out of the head unit to channel 5 individually? I dont want to sum any channels because i want to be able to fade and use subwoofer control from head unit. Im assuming the sub out from head unit is still considered "high out" . Any clarification would be appreciated. Thank you.

Maybe this is just what I need in my VW with the factory head unit still in. The 5 channel amp I have hooked to 4 door speakers and one subwoofer plus the factory head unit has been tuned by professionals. Would the D-5.1300 make music sound any better than the current setup?

‘18 tundra limited with non-jbl factory system - where would you grab high level inputs from? It’s been about 22 years since I was doing deck +4 and occasional remote starts with Best Buy:) the technology has changed so much and back then high level inputs sounded rough. Absolutely love the videos and huge motivation to get back into an old hobby I used to love - thanks!

I worked for those scumbags about 22 year ago too doing installs! LOL! Things have changed a bunch. Everything is factory integration now. Putting this same amp in my 2020 Raptor soon. Find a T harness for your Tundra. Then run them to the amp instead of RCA cables.

NEED HELP, hopefully someone hear can help me.i have a SSL Evo 3000 wat amp. I switched cars and left my adjustable gain knob that was ran next to my steering wheel. The shop is trying to rob me telling me its a special part only for that amp when i see plenty just like it online. I used a cable that looks like a phone jack. Can i use a universal one?

I want to change all 4 door speakers and front tweeters in my 2020 f150 using jl audio c3-600’s. Would this amp/dsp be perfect for that or do I need 6 channels ?

You could go passive in front and back and four channels would work great. Or you could use this amp and add another 2 channel, use the integrated DSP controlled outputs for the second amp, run the front components active and have a great system there too!

@@tymoneyxl by running them passive he means using the crossovers that come with your component speakers. That way running then passive you can use the 4 channels for front and rears. 2 channels to control the front woofers and tweeters together (they will input into the crossover and from there they will split to door speaker & tweeters), then the other two channels will be free to control your rears. Running them active means you will not use the crossovers and you will use all 4 channels on just the fronts. Each tweeter on their own channels (2) , door woofers on the other two channel using up all 4 channels.

@@tymoneyxl and the part about adding another two channel he meant if you go active (using all four channels on just the front) you can add another 2 channel amp for the other two speakers and use the built in dsp to control the signal that is being sent to that extra 2 channel amp as well.

I just installed this in my 2021 f150 with sync4. So far it is pretty good but the tuning has been a major pain in my butt since I have to rely entirely on the EQ in the amp (meaning I have to plug in my computer to change any setting). I am sure I will get there soon but it has been slow. I paired with Polk DB 6502 (front), Polk DB 652 (rear), and JL 10TW3-D4 (in .7cu sealed downfire box). My ONE complaint is that it kinda leaves me wanting on volume with the windows down (was not the case with the same speakers in my Tacoma, in fact the opposite. the only different being a cheaper amp with a identical power handling) but this may be in the tuning. I have had to crank the input gain to compensate (NO clipping but I still don't like doing that).

You mention that the door speakers can be run at 4 ohms and the sub can be run at 2 ohms. What would I need to do to make this happen? Still new to car audio

Just need to buy 4ohm door speakers and a sub that can be ran at 2ohm. A dual 4ohm sub or a dual 1 ohm sub or a single voice coil sub that’s 2ohm

budget builds ive done and have seen always seem to have a better quality(dedication) to them... big money is for either a big name or a big advertisement. Ive built dual alternator capable systems for the price of this amp. settle on a 2 channel A/B that is bridgeable with a 2 ohm stablization factor. you can buy a quality DSP online for less than $250 all you need is a little know how, wiring wise so you dont bug your system and fry your output. you can build a dream system for less than 1500 as long as your committed to doing the work yourself. scary price tags are for the ones who cant do it themselves and if your looking at systems like this than you may want to know how to do it yourself before your forced too.

Have you tried grounding the rca? That fixed my issue a while back.

Active Noise Cancelling can also give you a constant feedback loop if your car has it equipped. If the sound goes away when you roll your windows down, it’s a good indicator that you have an ANC module that just needs to be disconnected.
