unless you have an ultrasonic cleaner to dip a carb body into, no need to remove carbs from baseplate.

I am about to tackle this same project. The task that scares me the most is getting them all in sink with each other. Do you have any advice on that?

I didn't remove the screws for the throttle plates, so they should be fairly close to being in sync. There is a small pin hole near the throttle plate when it closes, if you set the adjustment screws so that each carb throttle plate is in the same place relative to this hole it will be pretty close. I have not had a chance to really sync them yet, as the bike is still not done. Still trying to figure out the fuel system. Having trouble finding a really low pressure pump.

If you haven’t synced the carbs yet, do what was previously said but start with cylinder #1 carb because that has the idle adjustment then set the other carbs the position of that one. I guess I’m not really sure how much that matters but I read that somewhere, possibly in the manual.

@@Addison0526 Addison you are correct in beginning at Carb #1, as it the set point in the process. The remaining carbs are all subservient to #1 setting, and must be adjusted in sequence. For" Bench Syncing" I use a thin Guitar E string(wire) or similar hard wire, to set all Throttle Valves "Butterflies." Take Guitar [(wire) #1 carb first] and insert at bottom of throat then adjust Flap until you can just barely pull it out. Repeat wire technique on the other 3. You can visibly confirm if you are proceeding in proper sequence, by watching if the previously adjusted Carb Flap changes position. If it does, you are not in sequence. Another small tip is to thoroughly spray down the carbs with degreaser ( I use Zep then SeaFoam spray) and blow down entire area with compressed air, prior to starting any removal. This obviously prevents surface dirt and debris from entering later. Also take a marker and identify and number each carb before breaking them apart. I have actually taken a razor knife and make 1-11-111-1111 nicks on the bowls and body to keep track.

Do i have to seperate the carburetors? Or can you clean the floats and replace the gasket and stuff without separating all four?
@Addison05265 жыл бұрын
You can do that without separating but there are o-rings for the fuel tubes between the carbs that should probably be replaced. Also cleaning the fuel enrichment passages is a good idea. I just finally got mine running great without any tuning so far. The chain however sounds horrible.

Yea i plan on getting a ultrasonic cleaner and a carburetor kit from billyC and doing it myself soon.
