Measure dishing after mounting a tire and inflating it. Dished wheels compress more to one side. It's said that tubeless tires compress the rim more and as such will change its dishing the most. Some builders offset the dish on purpose. Also, did you mount the endcaps fully seated? The drawback of having them removable without tools, is that they might not seat. Take care adjusting alloy nipples under tension and with spoke prep possibly washed away. They will bind and possibly deform.

I thought I was the only one who spent an hour or more with a new wheel checking all the details before mounting them on the bike. Nice video. A plastic ball tip or roller tip kit for your dial indicators would be a bit more pro when dealing with expensive carbon fiber wheels. Starting your dial indicator setup one turn in and zeroing the rotating bezel would be better and easier. It is pretty easy to loose 0.1 mm in the setup if you don't, not that anyone should really care about anything that tiny on a bike wheel.

Interesting part on the aero spokes. The rim end and middle of the spoke has high angular velocity so the aero alignment of the spoke makes a difference. The end of the spokes that is nearer to the hub, however, has very low angular velocity as compared to the middle or the rim end. Do they really need to be perfectly aligned?

Hello, Steve, thank you for a good video. I have been waxing my chains for a little while now, and have come accross a very annoying and unexpected problem. I have noticed that the ends of my chains have become a little lose. And just as I noticed that one of the chains has dropped a roller at one end during waxing (the side plates must have moved just wide enough). Have you come across this problem and how would you prevent and fix it? It was a Connex 11SX.
@stevenleffanue3 жыл бұрын
Usually that is a result of cross-chaining.
@Hard_Work_Is_Rewarding3 жыл бұрын
@@stevenleffanue I run a 1x system thus it could be the source of the problem. I thought it might have been due to a too rigorous swooshing of the chain in paraffin during waxing. Should not be a problem as it is not under load during the procedure? It is a shame as it hardly "stretched" looks and feels almost brand new and has hardly done any Ks. I have found in one of the online instructions that all you need to do is just to replace a roller and that it is a fairly common occurrence.
