@@baldersn4474 I wouldn’t say that as long as it’s the right kind of carbs. Good carbs in the morning would be fruit and oatmeal. Bad carbs would be white flour bagels, pancakes, or waffles. And it depends on how it makes you feel.

Ha. Memes aside, not necessarily. Jeff puts research into a format appropriate for KZfaq and his viewers (ie. not meant to be applied to academia, per se). Often methodological short-comings, or the significance of the variables, study population etc., are not always discussed. This is why people may come to such different answers when arguing something like sugar, in his previous video, because there are a host of contextual issues as well as misinterpretations just by accepting a published results (as is somewhat the case here, ie. authors concluded). I agree with Jeff (at this time), but I'm not in a position to be reviewing the studies as he has at this time, but that could change.

Jeff, you're great and your content is unique! Not only presenting the results of studies in a clean and understandable way but you always stay sceptical about study design and approach and try to limit their significance accordingly. I'm a medicine student and you are my source for valid informations about training. I have learned quite a lot about biochemstry but it's always difficult to get the overview and some things just don't work the way one would suggest after thinking "logically". That's why it's important to look at studies. I love it when you say, that correlation doesn't mean causation hahahha. My statistics professor would love you to death.

Thanks for the great video! Definitely provides „food“ for thought. It’s also worth noting I think that not all carbs have been made equal. Therefore it would also be of interest to address the role of glycaemic index and load in weight gain as this will dictate the overall energy uptake and density of the meal. It has been theorized that the rate of lipogenesis may be modulated by rate of carbohydrate uptake as well as carbohydrate load as a means of preventing hyperglycaemia. This has been a big problem in the consumption sugary drinks which have been associated with conditions non-alcoholic fatty liver disease as well as ectopic muscle fat deposition.

You can do cardio ,but it does depend on amount. Weights are great!!! The more muscle mass that you have the more calories you will burn at a resting rate. Plus doing cardio is great because it help promote things like blood flow and oxygen which is essential to muscle building. The best way to do cardio is high intensity for about 15 minutes 3 to 4 times a week. If you don't believe me look at the difference in body shape an Olympic sprinter versus an Olympic cross-country Runner. Olympic sprinters are normally Jacked and they do cardio. It also depends on your goals. If you are super skinny trying to develop muscles you may not want to do cardio. Outside of that do some cardio. I don't think you should do hours of cardio because it lowers testosterone and can affect protein synthesis. If your goal is weight loss due about 15 -20 minutes of hiit cardio 3 to 4 times a week
@LAskeHosting
@LAskeHosting 6 жыл бұрын
@jaywood1313 1. training philosophy and their weight lifting and cardio is set up for their specific needs because they have certain proportions that are considered best for their sport. 2. If you are bodybuilder and you are in prep phase and you want to lower the risk of injury then you will not perform HIIT (p.s. your 20minutes of hiit 3-4 times a weeks sounds more like moderate cardio cause there is no f.cking whey for someone who is trying to lift as much as posible that he will recover properly and do HIIT perfectly 4 times a week 20 minutes per session). 3. The best way to do cardio is to do what ever makes you happy and doing something that will hinder your goals might not be as beneficial as you think and at the end of the day its your personal choice ( do what makes you happy). 4. How you look at the end will depend on how your weight lifting vs cardio per week session you are doing(witch goes back to 1.) if you want to look like bodybuiler doing as much cardio as you can might not be the best option for you because your body needs to adjust your BMI, BF, speed and agility, so that you can get better at your needs if you are doing it right. 5. Cardio is cardio and you have to choose wisely depending on your goals, if its saving muscle HIIT might sounds good on paper and yes it works but at what cost thats the question... DO you see yourself 16 weeks later at the end of the cutt still doing HIIT and what will your weight lifting sessions looks like? 6. I prefer (as my personal choice to not involve cardio from startup, 1st cut longer, 2nd cut a bit of calories, 3. Involve 10min walking after every meal anD only when that stop working start with adding evening walks and 1 rave per week (4-8H of jumping left right) :D - and even that 1 rave per week is killing my recovery like next 2 days but you know what we all have things that we like in our life, and thats what i like so Im prepared to take that risk and hinder my goals just so that i can have balanced & enjoyable life :)

Jeff, this is the first time I have ever commented on any video on here, but you deserve the effort mate. I think I have seen everything you have done and I honestly think you are the best at it. Your opinions are based on well presented facts from solid research; delivered impeccably with a nice flow and no BS. Keep up the great work pal. Here is an idea for a Myth Buster which I have just been in a debate about. What do you think about the TR90 plan? Any science behind the supplements or just another cleverly marketed expensive diet plan?

What about hgh inhibition from late night glucose spikes before hitting REM?
@antomarkunovic
@antomarkunovic 3 жыл бұрын
As far as I know, high glucose = high insulin to control the sugar, insulin suppresses HGH secretion during sleep since they kinda go against each other.

Great video as always. Check the correlation between melatonin and insulin levels. One way to look at it is higher insulin levels suppress melatonin release which leads to worse sleep quality->lower hormonal release (hgh and testosterone) which if we look long term, eventually leads to higher body fat and less lean mass. Other way to look at it is simply that at the exposure of darkness we start to release melatonin which proven by research, suppress insulin as our body is programmed to have a steady blood sugar levels during sleep. However, I believe this is 1% of the whole puzzle, so people shouldn't be too stressed about it.
