Louise Calhoun's replacement mitral heart valve kept her from walking more than a few feet before needing to rest, UAB cardiologists used a minimally invasive procedure to repair the leaks and give Calhoun back her independence.

Im a 36 year old single father from Manchester uk , and I have this problem. I’m terrified I’m gonna drop dead in front of my daughters, I’m getting palpitations constantly, I’m out of breath all the time, and the NHS HAS A HUGE waiting list. I wish I had private health care to get this operation sooner, I’m terrified I’m gonna leave my daughters and they need me

@@roseray9118 no I’m still on a waiting list, out of breath all the time it’s awful, the palpitations are constant too, I just hope I get seen to soon,

i was told i have a leaky vow october last year i had a tube down my throat i was scared to be put to sleep but i was okay after that my throat was sore for a couple of days so i go back monday to see if i got to get surgery

My cardiologist detected a leaking valve in the heart. He said I may have been born with it or it developed by its self. He told me that I would have to have heart surgery but I’m scared and have been putting it on hold for a while. I feel shortness of breath, my abdomen is bloated, I feel dizzy sometimes and I don’t have insurance. So i decided I won’t be getting the surgery until I find a job that covers it.

@@Claybraham91 32. Went for a scan back when I was 18 because I didn’t feel good. No one told me from that hospital that I had that condition. Went to a cardiologist when I was in late 20s that’s when I found out.

If there’s a blood infection can you replace or repair a heart valve? My local hospital up here in mass won’t for my 25 year old daughter. If she doesn’t get it she’s going to die.

Call that hospital or look it up on the internet for others who do it. My Dr in NJ said they now repair valves without open heart surgery.

My husband is 38 he has to have this surgery they say but they told him the valve repair the women on this video had is because of her age and they cut the chest bone in younger people I think that’s not fair he is so scared I’m praying for you hope you find a good doctor.
