Wow what an incredibly sharp question and a helpful one too! That was an on-going debate amongst many of my hotel school friends and the sentiment was torn. Some felt that the hospitality background gave them a competitive edge and an education they would have never gotten at any other business school in the country, whereas others felt less enthusiastic that they had to take all of the hospitality-specific classes like culinary, when they are not really interested in the area and would rather have taken more real estate/finance-related classes. Even on resumes/Linkedin, it's interesting how some students like to highlight "BS in Hotel Administration" whereas other students simply put "BS in Business Management" depending on the career they go into. So, to answer your question, I think it's a very personal choice. You may want to study hotel administration because you want to work in the industry (like hotel operations or hospitality real estate). You may also want to study it, even if you end up doing something completely unrelated. But it's also possible that you may be better off attending other business schools if you want to focus only on accounting/financing. Therefore, what I can recommend is that each students deeply think about what they hope to get out of college and how it connects to their career goals, as only themselves would be able to discern which program would be right for them.
