The Rankin Ranch is a 6th generation family business in central California. Their ranch, founded in 1863, spans 31,000 acres. Three generations are currently active on the ranch. They still herd their cattle by horseback because the terrain is too rugged for ATV’s that are common to today’s ranchers. Something tells us, they prefer to do it the good ol’ way.

I work on a dairy and vegetable farm and plow in the winter, the only equipment i know i can depend on and trust everyday is my carhartt!! Thank you

Ranching in the Mountains of Southern Oregon, drought and failed Water (Dis) Agreements and now some serious health issues from being a welder for decades (always wearing Carhartt clothing and protective gear) our family is considering a significant downsizing of herd numbers of our grass fed Black Angus herd. Thank you for this inspiring film and causing me to think not of giving up, but just taking a 'break' from full time ranching. :D

You guys did an exceptional job with this video - good on you. And best of luck getting back on the horse after the fires and ongoing "mega" CA drought. Bottom Line: Ranchin' gets romanticized by too many. It's the hardest job in the world. But also the most rewarding. May the proverbial cows NEVER come home...
