Well, like Kyrgios, Alcaraz is an entertaining player with a bad tactic. If he wants to be maximally successful he should push the ball back in play in a consistent manner instead of playing difficult trick shots. Djokovic and Medvedev has understood what tactic is most efficient.

I sometimes think he does those shots for the audience which is nice of him but some of those highlight type shots are not worth an injury. I know he is young and he loves to entertain, but his team needs to think long term. What I love most about Carlos is his all court game style, so much creativity. What a regret not being able to see this kid play against peak Federer and peak Nadal. At least I hope there will be some good matches vs Djokovic in the near future. Alcaraz is on the same league as the big 3, and I don't think any of the other new kids has a chance with him, except Sinner (maybe).

That’ll be one of the biggest IFs in his career IMO. He’s already been out for injuries at this age but he’s also still growing. He needs to think long term as well but at this age and with his abilities I can understand why he will run after every single ball every time

Dimitrov did not play bad, but he was too inconsistent unfortunately. You cannot afford this against Carlitos.

Story of Dimitrov's tennis career. He has the talent and can play amazing in bursts but just cannot do it consistently in a match especially against the best players.

We're not worthy of Carlos Alcaraz. Sumptuous and highly-entertaining tennis, with just the right amount of ridiculousness (2:42 and 4:08) to keep you mesmerized throughout the match. Well done on Grigor for keeping it close in the second set. What a time to be alive and watching tennis!

Since winning the ATP finals, it's been downhill for Grigor. He can win against almost anyone and lose to anyone.

@@bogdanpopescu1401 that's why I wrote "almost". I had no illusions that Grigor can beat Alcaraz. My point was what has happened the last 6 years, mentally he has become very weak - unforced errors, breaking and then getting broken right away. It has happened in dozens of matches.

Imagine if Alcaraz came out few years earlier, he might’ve take quite a few slams away from Rafa and Nole

Imagine if carlitos was born the same yr as rafa he would definitely have changed the number of slams that roger, rafa, novak, murray and wawrinka had won

Nadal would win roland garros 14 times in any era. Maybe more in some other era because no djokovic . I'm sure of that .

TO WIN or at least to have a chance to win with Alcaraz you really have to keep him deep behind the baseline.
