I am from Saudi Arabia, and I hold deep respect for Mr. Carlos for his hard work and dedication in saving both companies from bankruptcy. However, it is unfortunate that the Japanese were not fair to him, pushing him to take drastic measures to escape an unjust situation. A genius of a businessman like most Lebanese, he saved Nissan, Michelin and that mediocre car Renault, well done Mr Ghosn for screwing them all for their envy, injustice and trumped up accusations .

I just watched this whole film on BBC. There were many scenes edited to go against Carlos. Also some of the people in the video clearly were against Carlos and wer complicit like Ben Dooley who lives and works in Japan for the New york times. Louis Schweiter (former Renault CEO) also had a motive to say damaging things about Carlos as Renault essentially wanted to oust him. Also why did Nissan allow Grey Kelly to participate in this film? They are always so secretive about the case etc. Since he is also held in Japan under bogus charges. I bet they cut a deal with Kelly that if he said damaging things about Carlos they would give him a lighter sentence. The real corruption here in the case is Japan itself. They have revealed what a corrupt justice system they have and how racist of a country they are where a foreign CEO of a Japanese company is not accepted. I will never set foot in Japan or spend one cent of my money in that country.

This is gonna be a hard slap to Japan and for France who abandoned Carlos for fear of Japans irate,

I watched your documentary, but there is A LOT MISSING, 3rd episode was interesting. You left a lot out, you did not mention how he also bought Mitsubishi Motors and how Fiat Chrysler in the final days of when they were to buy the full alliance not sure why you did not mention this at all, when it was the final part of the tale as to why Nissan outed him specifically for wanting to remain domesticated, even though he saved their company being bankrupt. and being powerful.. You also did not specify any of the car models he helped make and bring back, such as creating the Leaf electric car, self driving cars and many others.. also with the Nissan Taxi deal in New York.. so many key information you left out.. You also have a lot of irrelevant mundane people talking.. You should have directed it better Nick Green.. have more detailed insight in his life, you did have good footage and did part insight in his earlier days at Nissan, but more could have been expanded upon.. You also directed it with foreigners lens into Japans society, without knowing much detail.. Firstly it is vague to not think that hey the CFO and Accountants handle all the financials.. there's also outside accountants. so HOW exactly can a CEO manipulate their salaries?? especially if it is a publicly traded company... where is the logic in that, especially if it is all public knowledge.. Also corrupt corruption with local Japanese companies is an everyday occurrence, if you watch Japanese news you will see it first hand.. and they usually get a slap on the wrist.. You should also interview two other people Michael Woodford who was the former British CEO at the Olympus Tokyo HQ, who was fired for being a whistleblower, but much more was behind the scenes and also Takafumi Horie of Livedoor, who was obliterated form his company Livedoor for purchasing FujiTV and being one of Japan's biggest scandals. Also you should of brought into account, similar situations has occurred in Mazda, when Ford owned the majority of Mazda at one time and Mazda did everything in their power to oust Ford's share in the company in the late 90s /early 2000s In addition to Volkswagen buying a stake in Suzuki and Suzuki's CEO did everything in his power to oust VW's stake in the company and accomplished that.. Also after WWII the US wrote their constitution, corporate laws and taxation laws, so it is obvious, that there is a lot of bs due to ousting the alliance in the shareholders of Nissan's favor and for nationalism... He IS innocent, they did not want Nissan to be globalized with Renault nor Fiat-Chrysler, had they gone to Fiat Chrysler, they would of been the third or second largest after Toyota and GM..Under Ghosn, he brought Nissan out of bankruptcy, Renault saved them, and he also bought out Mitsubishi Motors and brought electric cars, self driving cars and instead they wanted to be domesticated and needed a scapegoat which was Carlos to kick out and bring back to being a domesticated car company.. He loved Japan and lived there since the 90s.. also where is the CFO and accountants.. how can anyone claim their own pay from a publicly traded company, where everything is in the public domain.. LOGIC

In the west, a company is just a company; an entity for providing products and having a return on investment. The purchase of Budweiser by the Belgians or the purchase of Volvo by the Chinese comes to mind. It may have stung the locals a bit, but nothing beyond that. In Japan, however, companies are an extension of their culture and the purchase of a Japanese institution such as Nissan by a "foreign entity" was a definite no-go... even if it would have garnered them greater profit than what they could achieve on their own.

This had potential to be great. But I was infuriated with it in that English subtitles were not provided for significant foreign conversations. A great story line, but overall a bit of a disappointment for the reasons outlined.

As someone who grew up watching Japanese cartoons and admiring their culture I have to say that every day I have less and less respect for Japan and their people.

It'd be much more interesting if the producer interviews Mike and Peter Taylor for this film though it could cause problems with Ghosn. Mike Taylor says Ghosn's stories were full of lies. The detention center in Japan has been respectful and never tortured Taylors unlike Ghosn's statement, and US DOJ knew Japanese jails won't torture that is why they decided to extradite Taylors to Japan. As soon as Ghosn got out of the musical box on the airplane Mike felt Ghosn started showing arrogance and never said thank you to Mike. Taylors helped Ghosn because Ghosn lied and insisted that he has been tortured in Japanese detention center and it's absolutely not illegal to help Ghosn escape from Japan.

Nissan cars piss me off. I bought a brand new Nissan car in 2004. I bought a Nissan Truck in 2007, the truck was 1 year old. I called the dealer the other day, I was told " Oh, we don't repair any Nissans older than 2010 years.". Really. You SELL older Nissans!. What BS. That's the thanks I get for loyalty. I don't care what happens to Nissan. We bought a new Honda Pilot.

Watched this bizarre film and I have no doubt that the new gold digging 'trophy wife' is the one pulling the strings behind the scenes.... Carlos was a devoted family man with a very successful career and respected by his peers, until he met that woman. Carole Nahas Marsh was a nobody, from nowhere, and she was hell bent on living like royalty no matter what (or who) she had to do. She met this lonely and exhausted guy, that worked 24/7 and had no life and was due for a mid life crisis. She manipulated Carlos to leave his family and organised her flashy wedding at Versailles palace, then quickly spent his money on a very flashy lifestyle with mansions all over the world. (You can be sure Carlos had no time or any interest in spending his money on an over the top luxurious lifestyle and showing off to the world... that is something a typical gold digging woman would do and I have no doubt that when the money in his bank account got low, she threatened to leave him. He then found a way to give her money from the company bank account, in order to shut her up.)

I hope Japan catch u Carlos u will go to gail again ✌
