I'm 69 year old in the year 2023, and my son was conceived listening to this song many years ago with an ex partner. whom I truly loved...she sadly passed away in 2019. The emotion and passion of Carlos Santana's guitar playing will always keep her in my heart.

I would recommend his performance at Woodstock (1969). That would be a great reaction. Welcome to the world of Carlos Santana! His music has been a staple in my playlist for over 50 years. Thank you for your reaction, it was enlightening to see a young person experience Santana for the first time. Blessings!

Yes I hardly could agree more with these guys here Biss! soul sacrifice Woodstock 1969. Pay attention also to the young drummer he was the youngest player at Woodstock at 19 years old Michael was a phenomenal drummer even at that young age. By the way they were high as a kite at this performance there’s a backstory to that but too much to go into here lol!

Absolutely1 +1 Pwople don't realize today, but Santana most probably was the first 3rd world rockstar ever. The Woodstock performance is so much better than his performances since the 90s, because he phrased totally different later. Probably to not get bored 🙂 The Woodstock performance is also remarkable because of a 16 year old drummer, whom he features, so much talent at this performance.

Santana is an American Latin rock band formed in 1966 by Mexican-American guitarist & songwriter Carlos Santana. They played at Woodstock in 1969. They have had a lot of great songs & instrumental rock tracks over the years such as "Jingo", "Evil Ways", "Black Magic Woman", "Soul Sacrifice", "Oye Coma Va", "Everybody's Everything", "The Game Of Love", "Hope You're Feeling Better" etc. The song "Smooth" & "Maria Maria" were done later in 1999 & rejuvenated the career of Santana.

However those were just commercial successes. HIS GREATEST MUSIC WAS AFTER HIS SPIRITUAL AWAKENING. CARVANSERI, WELCOME, BARBOLETTA, ONENESS, BLUES FOR SALVADOR, MOONFLOWER, EUROPA were his crowning achievements. Oye como va and Black Magic woman have been beaten to death and are boring commercial successes in comparison.

🐬Santana's music is usually about catching the vibe. 🪘🥁🪘That's why he always uses a huge percussion section, creating the ludicrously deep groove that he's known for. 🥞Bisquick caught the vibe, which we knew she would, but I think she was expecting something sensational from a song that is supposed to chill, which it did, and so did she...⛱🌊🧬❤

5 months late xD so many songs where I think "I could recommend that" I find you already have a reaction to that. This particular song is from Santana's prime and from him i gotta say i never heard another piece of music as good as this, and the studio version is unmatched from what I have seen. It seems like a lot of it is improvised on it as well, and it is never the same when you go after the fact and learn these improvised lines. He also lets the notes live longer and doesn't stop so many of them as aprubtly as he does in this version. It's a great listen.

Santana's prime was actually in 1999 when his album 'Supernatural' (which was recorded w/ guest singers and artists) sold 30 million copies worldwide (13 million copies in the US) and scored hit songs like - 'Smooth' (feat. Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20) ... 'Maria Maria' (feat. the Product G&B) ...'Put your lights on'(feat. Everlast). Carlos Santana debuted in the late 60's w/ his brand of latin fusion music... his record sales peaked in the 70's before 2 of his band members left to form Journey (guitarist Neal Schon and keyboardist Greg Rolie) ... Santana released a string of albums into the 80's, but by the 90's, he was without a label and left for broke... It wasn't until Santana recorded the 'Supernatural' album and made a massive comeback in 1999 as his popularity skyrocketed and at age 75, Santana is still the king of latin fusion music.

That guitar's a PRS (Paul Reed Smith) - you can tell by the birds on the fretboard! That's the PRS thing. But the style is kinda similar to a Les Paul, which is one of the iconic guitar styles (like how Strats are) so you might have been noticing those too

I love your reaction! I am a life long fan of his and without a doubt my life has been positively influenced by his music. The guitar that he is playing here is a PRS (Paul Reed Smith) guitar. In particular it is a gold top. He has other PRS guitars as well and notably, the identifying mark are the flying birds on the fretboard (neck) of the guitar. Most PRS guitars have that with a few exceptions like Orianthi's gorgeous Lotus vine fretboard on one of her custom PRS guitars. Here is a link to the song that helped Santana break onto the music scene back on 1969. It's from the famous Woodstock music festival. There four members of that band that are in the video you posted above who are all original members. The video you posted was from a reunion tour they did a few years ago. Carlos, the drummer. organ player and the guy with the big afro playing the congas are those same guys. Enjoy! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rqh3aaySuLenoIk.html
