"Often the most natural moves are just the best" is a thing I've stumble upon in chess a lot. Sometimes creativity can change the course of a lost game but there is not always an opportunity open to that and by searching for that weird and unseen move you end up missing those logical and natural moves that, in the end, construct the whole of the game move by move. And worst case of all, you lose against these moves that lack creativity and seem lazy because, in truth, they are the best and chess only rewards what is best.

Totally agree. With their 2398 rating, to lose on time by just a bit, only being three pawns down against Magnus after that many moves..... really impressive. Losses against Magnus usually involve total domination, and although Magnus had a superior position throughout, when 'pawn structure' is what decided the game (as Magnus said), that is a top effort.
