@@discontinueddddddd This is the problem with so many people like yourself. You're unable to appreciate anything outside of what you already know. Musicians of every era and every style of music have something to offer if only you we're able to look past your preconceived personal bias. 10 minutes ago I was listening to something that would most likely make you want to stake your eardrums out and now I'm listening to this. Step outside of your comfort bubble and find the beauty in something different.

I discovered Carly in 1992 when I stole my brothers Carly Simon’s tape and played it over and over learning every song while driving to college for the first time. This entire album is imbedded in my head as a 18 year old (class of 1992). The world was my blank slate. The beauty in these performances helped expand on it. Thank you for this beautiful music. I’m 47 now. Still enjoy it :)
@acemobile98062 жыл бұрын
Class of '91 here. I grew up with my mother's vinyl collection & was taught how to use/respect the vinyl from an early age. She had (and STILL has 😂) a decent collection, good turntable that I've kept up over the years & several Carly albums in the mix. Growing up I would spin her records on occasion but sadly (and stupidly on my part) was into the more mainstream pop & metal as I got older. Don't ask me how but lately it's been a total rediscovery trip for me & now she's like a drug, can't get enough! I'd rank this whole disc up there with the very, very best of live performances by ANYONE. You can always get a good idea of true vocal talent by how close a singer sounds to the studio album while adding in their own little touches to make a live performance something special. I'm blown away by how true to form she sounds, pure, soulful & technically accurate, no tricks/autotune here. Needless to say gorgeous too 😍 We have lived in the time of vocal giants!

BUT, I recently "discovered" her videos singing "you're so vain, you belong to me", and cannot recall the 3rd song but I felt those songs deeper in my soul than I expected..I love her very much spiritually and I thank her for her "singing sensuality" and making me feel like a spring chicken..🐔.. she's right, I do belong to her..❤

In her autobiography she recounts her difficult childhood. Her parents considered her the ugly child, inferior in every way to her sisters. So it is gratifying to see her outshine both Joanna and Lucy Simon in her adult years.

A band can spend millions in pyrotechnics, lighting, big screens and stunts...but this...this is better. So much better. I think this might be the most beautiful and atmospheric concert in history.

One of my favorite songs by Ms Carly. This brings back so many wonderful memories how great music was back in 70s and 80s. This is real music, real singing. God bless you Carly Simon. You are legendary, an icon.
