See that's why I don't understand why melo isn't in a team he's good still at this NBA level he will be a good scoring helpful for team he's a hall of famer he deserves respect he's top 7 or 8 on. All time scoring list he could have get farther if they still give him a chance

Still a first ballot Hofer and an NBA championship away from joining basketball"s elite Triple Crown Club (players who won championships in the NCAA, NBA, and Olympics (MJ, Magic, Bill Russell, K.C. Jones, Jerry Lucas, Quinn Buckner, Clyde Lovellette, and AD) That's something Lebron, Curry, KD to name a few WILL NEVER ACCOMPLISH. I'm not sure if AD's bubble championship should count, but he joined basketball's Elite group in 2020 after winning first championship in bubble with Lakers. With respect to him not being signed yet to a team, don't worry. He's weighing his options (Lakers, Nets (if they keep KD/Kryie on team, or Knicks (if they sign Mitchell). PUT SOME RESPECT ON HIS DAMN NAME. Melo is a LEGEND.

@@tonyclark1011 @Tony clark Prime Melo never had the same luxury of his counterparts (Lebron, KD, Wade, to name a few superstars) to play with elite level players in their prime. Melo plays well with cerebral point guards (Billups/Jason Kidd). Billups was in twilight of his career when he helped Melo reach WCF in 2009 against Kobe's Lakers,. Jason Kidd had one foot in retirement the year he helped Melo's Knicks win 54 gms/Atlantic Division (2012-2013 season). Had JR Smith (Sixth Man of the Year/the Knicks secondary scorer) not allowed himself to be distracted by Rihanna (Miami Heat fan) before playoffs, Knicks would have swept Boston, beaten Pacers, and upset defending champs (Miami). Lebron/Wade did not want any part of Knicks in playoffs in 2012-2013 season. During that season, Knicks swept Miami/Spurs-- two teams that ended up in Finals. Yes, the playoffs is a different animal, but Knicks had Miami's number. They were the better small ball team and the hottest team entering the playoffs (16-2 to end reg season). The hottest team is always the most dangerous. I remember Melo scoring 50 against defending champs on their court on 4/2 like it was yesterday.. I will never forgot the look on Bron/Wade's faces from the bench watching Melo torch Shane Battier (elite defender) for 50 points. The ball in that game had a lot of energy with Kidd/Felton distributing it. It was within flow of offense and beautiful basketball. Highlights of his 50 piece are on full display on KZfaq. When the game was over, Bron/Wade looked SCARED. Who in Miami Heat's organization sent Rihanna to distract JR Smith (hottest player after allstar game in regular season--Sixth Man of Year Winner)? After hanging out with Rihanna in wee hours, JR Smith showed up to game one Semi-finals against Indiana hung over. It cost Knicks game, homecourt, and series. He also got suspended one game in series against Boston. Instead of a sweep, Boston won a gm. A sweep would have allowed injured players to heal and Knicks rest to prepare for tough Indiana Pacers team. Let's be honest here, Lebron did not win championship until he teamed up with elite level players in their prime in Miami (Wade/Bosh)/Kyrie in Cleveland/AD in LA. KD teamed up with Curry/Thompson in GS to win his two chips. Melo is old school. He wanted to win it all as #1. You're not going to win chip in NBA without elite level Robin/great complimentary players who know their roles/great defensive schemes. After Melo left Knicks, He played with two selfish, ball dominant players in Westbrick/Harden. I hope I'm wrong, but Harden/Westbrick will NEVER win championship as lead guard. One last point, Melo never got the RESPECT he deserved from some members of media. Maybe it was the cornrows. Melo was ROBBED of ROY. Yes, I said it. He had better stats than Lebron and led a bunch of SCRUBS his rookie season to the playoffs in tough Western Conference. Bron did not reach playoffs until his third year. In fact, Melo is one of a few superstars (Duncan/Dirk) to reach playoffs the first ten years of NBA career. If Melo does not win NBA title, it will not diminish his greatness (first ballot hofer).

@@tonyclark1011 After Melo was traded from the Knicks, he scored 16.2 points with OKC, 15.4 and 13.4 points respectively with Portland, and 13.3 points with Lakers as third/fourth option. He did his job. Bosh/Love as the third option put up similar numbers on their respective championship teams. The 1 & 2 options did not do their jobs. In the bubble, Melo made big shots after big shots to help propel Portland in play-in game against hungry, young Memphis team. They don't make playoffs without Melo. They won first game against Lakers in playoffs, then Dame got hurt. Poor coaching cost Portland in playoffs against Denver. Melo's three point shooting (scored 18 points) helped Portland steal game one in Denver. In the playoffs against Utah Jazz, Paul George became George Paul (an average Joe) and Russell Westbrick tried to win game by himself. He attempted 43 shots (19 three pointers) in closeout game against Jazz. Who does that? You can't win when lead PG can't shoot, makes poor decisions and doesn't trust his teammates. Russ is a selfish, ball dominant player who will NEVER WIN CHAMPIONSHIP.

@@NACentDSTM "lame ass fadeaway" made him unguardable. At 38, he can still score the rock (averaged 13 points...shot 44%...38% from 3...83% from FT line off bench Lakers) command respect in mid/low post, stretch the defense with shotmaking-ability, and make big shots. Last season with the Lakers, the big three offensively on most nights were AD, Bron, and Melo. Melo played integral role in helping Lakers win games. Russ was gawd awful. Laker fans showed Melo a lot of love. I think Russ was jealous of lakers fan favorite-- Melo.
