400mL per 5 strokes is 80mL per stroke. 1/0.08 is 12.5 => 12.5 pumps per litre => 62.5 strokes for a 5L jug.

Bet ya never thought ten years ago you would be featuring Volvos and Toyotas on SM! But realistically why not? Got some old SM mags and all sorts of odd cars used to get featured occasionally, even had proper VWs, the air-cooled ones which were the original fast4.

Scotty, besides all your usual "shifter" awesomeness, this episode got me thinking about how SM has shifted it's focus thanks to your openness to try new things on this channel. Days gone by it was only US/Aust 6s and 8s. I gave up at one point on SM and switched over to "Zoom" and "Fast 4s". To have a Jap turbo/EFI converted Volvo in pride of place on the channel keeps it a lot more interesting and current. Keep up the good work!

Get one of those 1lr tom thumb pumps. On the breather use a air blower it blows the oil out of the hose It has 100ml divisions on the side so get close and pump the rest

might need a good sleep before working on the next segment of project cars.. good result by the looks! Thanks again for keeping it real. spilling oil/tripping on the oil drain tub etc isn't unusual when you are nearly ready for a test drive.. Woo! (i've had that cable issue on a falcon auto that came from an EFI onto a carby one.. yay i'm finnished.. D'oh!)

Scotty... maaate... you will spent less time, money and headaches to just take it to a gearbox shop and get the problem sorted. I haven't seen the full video yet but I built auto's manuals and diffs for a living and I get a lot of "the forum said" customers and they end up spending twice the amount chasing parts and what have ya when if they just throw a few dollars at it and get it done properly...

Passion Fingers Scotty!! We all get them every now and then. I've had them for the last Effing 2 months it seems!! I cleaned the split aircons in the house (I live in Far North Queensland) to save some coin, (money for Monaro build) find noisy bearings in the fan motor. change bearings, now motor works flat out but no lower 1,2,3, 4 speed, then spits out a fault code!. Pull another A/C apart, clean, put back together and find broken bits, (thanks to previous persons who i paid to clean it). Then I can't find an internal cable cover, do my head in looking for it. Eventually put the A/C back together and there is no screws left over, so part was never fitted when the A/C was installed. I won't talk about computers, ride on f&$*@+&!!ing mowers, kitchen plumbing.......... just gotta get the Passion Fingers gone before working on the Monaro......

That ending looked ominous, "well, second gear works".... The look said to me something else was amiss though. Hope not for your sakes, it gets old quick when you're repeating the same job over and again. (You asked me how I know? Ahh, well... That's because I've spent the last couple of days refurbishing, then re-stripping/rebuilding, rinse and repeat, on a Bosch VE injector pump for a build & at the end of today it's gov modded and ready to rock except for the main shaft seal decided to piss everywhere (the only part NOT in the seals I had around). Keep on keeping on, all we can do mate.

My dad sold second hand cars for a living his whole live just about. Tried telling me my 99 model statesman had a 308. And I didn't know what I was talking about. Had to prove him wrong was pretty funny 😂. Who cares what people call parts. But when it comes to motor sizes that's a different story altogether 😂

STREETMACHINETV if it makes you feel any better Scotty I just spent the weekend pulling out the gearbox of my TA22 Celica to put behind the 18RG twin cam I bought to replace the seized gutless 2T and spent a few hours totally degreasing it and making it look pretty again. Only to find the bellhousing I was planning to take off the OTHER 18R engine and gearbox WON’T FIT the original gearbox and the splines are a completely different size so now the tailshaft will need a new slip yoke and etc etc I may as well just drop an LS into at this point...why is it so f--king hard to be so f--king cool???
