That's absolutely hooking mate! 9.0 @150+ is singing espesh into that headwind, all you needed was that wind to change directions and you had the 8 in the bag

I feel your pain mate. I'm sitting on a PB of 11.1 at 131mph and just cant crack that 10. My car just doesn't get off the line with the ZF8 trans. So I'm just going to throw another 150hp at it, and just send it!

Love the what ill call the scotty force burnouts. For the typical '1000hp' barra that makes 650, 9.05 is still a good effort considering. Yeah, it will dip into the 8s once computer wiz bangery is done. But its still fast for a taxi motor in a hairdresser car.

Scotty me boy, I can sense a wave of different emotions right through the video but just remember that the rods are still inside the block and it's very consistent with just some driving aids with 2 step etc to iron out those bugs. I can feel at least an 8.98 out of it and if it hooks up like the big wheel lift getting towards the 8.92's or better. Marvelous efforts on the engine build mate. One of my favourite builds to follow online 😉👍🚙💨

Scott, you need to reinforce the pilot chute straps and all of the abrasion points with cloth tape. Otherwise at 150+ mph you will be going through those things like the dickens.

If someone told me back in high school in 1990. That you could build a Falcon six in your garage to run 8 second quarters. I would have said youd be dreaming!! Things have certainly come a long way.

It was a little disappointing but there will be a next time. It's part of drag racing, sometimes we do it easy like with Trolvo or sometimes we struggle like with Turbo Taxi

I feel like having launch control so you can set the transbrake to whatever rpm you want and have 2 step there to build however much boost you want would help 👌🏻

I know! The fact he's running that consistent and launching like that all manually is impressive as hell though. Launch control and 2 step and this thing will be in the 8's for sure. Maybe he prefers to do it all driver and I reckon he will anyway. It's also still a mildish tune for a Barra isn't it?

Great effort Scotty, Start looking for any small gains you can achieve. Most of them do not have a big price tag. A bigger turbo will definitely help in getting faster times. Is there any suspension changes you can make to improve things? I am pulling for yah Scotty, you will get there.

Scotty are you not using a 2 step? Ahh ok just heard you say it as I was typing it. Definitely some time being lost there. Are you allowed to make a fibreglass flip lid for the top? At those speeds you are bound to be getting some serious turbulence in the cabin. Congrats on some great runs.

@@STREETMACHINETV yeah then just play with the timing curve to feed the power in. Not having to worry about pressing the loud pedal is just one less thing to think about. Damn that thing hooks hard, there is no loss of traction going on there.

Your there Scotty your knocking in the 8 it will come do the 2 step and leave the snail for time being, it has the Hp to be in the 8s . Patients grass hopper it will come . !

That was awesome and certainly a 8 in that car. That head wind would have been the issue. If the wind was behind you that would have got you under 👍 Had similar issues with my ISF when trying to get an 11 (which is super hard in one of those) best I got was a 12.15 with bad track prep. Last run of the night was wheel spin off the line but PB 100-160 which would have done it. I will never know but you will get your 8.

don't know anything about them but out my price range. Being a 1700 kg car with quite an impressive donk. What makes it so difficult? Lack of aftermarket for gears , converters or cams? Lack of tunability?

@@hayden6056 They are 1800 with a 75kg driver. The issue is with all bolt ons like headers, exhaust, tune and inlet they reach the ceiling NA at about 490 to 500 at the engine. Mine has everything done including ported inlet. To get into the 11s you can change the diff ratio ( is350 centre ) and weight loss like all the seats etc etc. The world record is 11.67 and he has removed everything lol. Mine was still full weight. You can't change the converter either or gearbox.

I'm no physicist but that looked like a real stiff head wind, would the equivalent tail wind have produced an 8 second pass? Or on a windless day? Either way you deal the cards you're dealt! Shout out to Matt for the great video work.

Well..there's you get different type of jet for nos to make run more fine with tuning Don't need run full does of 150hp nos Either a 75hp nos with that turbo scott using ... Or upgrade turbo to next level
