To reiterate: Toys (1992) also starring Williams. It'll likely also make you cry, but not near as darkly as Dead Poets - lightly salty sad tears followed by the good sugar tears. It's Willy-Wonkaesque, surreal, beautiful...and _weirdly_ *prescient* for 30 yrs ago (it predicts the future, which is extra weird). You'd definitely enjoy it, if not absolutely love it. And if you don't know/love Joan Cusack...you will!

You should watch Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975). It's directed by Peter Weir as well and goes over similar themes. It's also outstanding aesthetically.

You should watch another Robin Williams movie called "Good Will Hunting". Williams won an academy award for his role in that movie

I totally agree: Todd and Neil would be an adorable couple and Charlie absolutely gives off bi vibes. Although I wish Charlie's story was more well-written because it doesn't hold up at all. You watch it in high school like, "Yeah, go after Chris, Charlie! Love at first sight is totally a thing!" and then watching it when you're older you just cringe the entire time like, "Charlie, no. Dude, NO! She's given no indication at all that she likes you, she already had a boyfriend, and DON'T KISS HER WHEN SHE'S SLEEPING AND CAN'T CONSENT TO IT!"

What?There is a big difference between being against homophobia and fighting it and wanting to see everything have a gay interpretation. Can't two boys just be friends and love each other well, besides liking poetry? Do they necessarily have to be gay? Stop pushing the envelope.

😪 So many tears later...so many Reactions. And I still weep. Why does crying not communicate the depth of pain...grief...and yet this painful story is so beautifully given to us. Given to ys because of the beautiful performances from actors, who in this performance, maybe more than any other during their careers Are Masters of their Craft. I WEPT when i saw it in theaters, and now, my eyes moisten with tears, and I blink them away, maybe weeping internally these dark days. I wish I had a desk set to launch... Thank you for sharing

As obviously lovable as his more over-the-top comedic performances are, Mr. Keating is my favorite Robin Williams role. I first saw this film in my high school English class and it confirmed for me that, "Yep--I want to be a writer." I've seen it a million times since then and the ending gets me every single time. Carpe diem!

@@Madvisionn Yes, I am, and an actress, too. I double majored in Creative Writing and Theatre in college. I'm 35 as of 2023 and am currently working on my own projects, one of them being a stage play adaptation of "The Man Who Laughs" by Victor Hugo.

Elements from this film were taken from the school I was educated at. In 1994 our school performed this film on the stage.

If I could make a suggestion for a reaction video, you should watch Inside Man from 2006. It's a Spike Lee film about a New York City bank robbery staring Denzel Washington, Clive Owen, Jodie Foster, Christopher Plummer, Willem Dafoe, & Chiwetel Ejiofor.

I enjoyed your Ripley reaction too. I hope you do watch The Green Mile. It can be sad but it isn’t depressing. I think you will be touched by its otherworldliness.

I would suggest Good Will Hunting. Robin Williams won an academy award for it. If you want to continue the Ethan Hawke movies I would recommend Training Day.

@@Madvisionn I like Matthew's suggestion of 'Good Will Hunting'. Not only did Robin win the Oscar for his performance, but Matt Damon & Ben Affleck won Oscars for the Original Screen Play too (they both wrote & starred in the movie)

If you like 'older' movies.... 'The Women' 1939. 'Auntie Mame' 1958 (the one with Rosalind Russel not Lucille Ball) 'The Bad Seed' 1956. I'd suggest watching the trailers to see if you think you'd like any of them (they're acquired taste(s)) Oh. Oh. Oh. And I think I suggested 'Cruel Intentions' before... or maybe even 'Rules of Attraction' with James van der Beek & Ian Somerhalder.
