Oh sweetie, we've all been there....
@jazinegrrrl5 жыл бұрын
She was always his second option up until the last episode of the show because she was so desperate and clingy. Notice she can never say what she really wants to say to him. She speaks in riddles and sometimes when she has some courage, she punks out at the end of her rants about what her needs and wants are. She chickens out because she knows he'll reject her and will refuse to commit, love, and respect her the way she craves. So in order to keep him, she puts up with it, thinking in time he'll change. Big loves this because he gets non-committal sexual access and takes advantage of her insecurity. Natasha didn't lift a finger to get Big's attention, and it wasn't because she was younger and prettier, she just expected to be treated a certain way. She didn't chase Big. She let him chase her. Although the marriage failed miserably, I believe she knew her worth much more than the older Carrie.

jazinegrrrl You’re spot on about Carrie but I disagree on the reason Big married Natasha. Natasha was safe and Big had an ideal female in mind that Carrie didn’t fit. Big was a sophisticated suit and tie. Carrie was wild, complicated, full of drama, and wrote about sex. Big was embarrassed to be with her. Where as Natasha was the clean cut cookie cutter drama free type who he could be seen with and not be judged for being with her or embarrassed of. Big said it himself; Natasha was easy to be with.

Um, you don't see an emotionally charged doormat here? And being emotionally charged isn't unrespectable; it's the way she _behaves_ when she is. Can't believe I used to love this show. It was always best suited for an age group well below its rating.

I can't understand why everyone hates Carrie . Yeah of course she did a lot of mistakes and made some bad decisions but actually the series is about the real life of real women who can go the wrong way ,choose a nasty guy and etc . Everyone has its own insecurities and problematic issues cause we're not robots and can lead only our emotions sometimes . The series wouldn't be so entertaining without the store of Carrie and Big's toxic relationship.
@MissCozzetta4 жыл бұрын
I don't think we hate her because of her choices and wrong decisions (which we can relate to), but just because of her attitude in general. She is very selfish and self-centred. Not a good friend for the other three characters. Just think about the day Charlotte tells the others that Henry proposed... She waited for Carrie to share this important moment and it was supposed to be her special moment. Carrie arrives and after 20 second focuses the attention on herself and the post-it Berger left her. And she manages to keep the conversation on her problems, ignoring the special moment of her friend. Totally stealing Charlotte's thunder. (even I have to say that the line: "paper cover rock" is amazing :) But this is just me :) maybe somebody else can give you a better explanation.

True. Ironic how Aiden gave her everything she thought she wanted from Big but got freaked out and ended up cheating on him and throwing up when she found a ring he was going to propose to her with in his coat pocket. People want what they can’t have and when things are easy someone gets bored. Natasha was the complete 180 opposite of Carrie and Big got bored and went after Carrie again because she was in a new relationship and was more hard to get to. The more Big was aloof the more Carrie wanted and got needy and when Carrie was more aloof when she was with Aiden the more Big wanted and came to her first and wouldn’t leave her alone.

Unfortunately, it’s not that simple. When a narcissist love bombs you, it’s very hard to resist. He was already hooked in from the beginning. Lots of people are a bit more educated in love bombing these days thanks to the internet, but it can still be hard to recognise. So there might be less guys that will put up with these tantrums, because they know what to look out for, but narcissists will always find victims
