I dated a Mr. Big for about 6 months. Commitment issues, a drinking problem, insecurity, he was older than me, and a hot/cold personality. When I left him, he came back the same way, saying he made a mistake and he knew what he wanted was to be with me. Like Carrie, I caved in and got back with him. One month later during our first trip together to NY, he called it off again and I went home in tears. It took me a couple of months of being single, a few therapy sessions, and support from my friends and family for me to start dating again and leave my unhealthy relationship in the past. I love myself and will not allow myself to be in another relationship like that again, no matter how strong the attraction is.

Just see whenever they are together they laugh and we know from the first day they met that there has always been chemistry between them. I'm not sure big only wanted Carrie when she was with someone because both when they danced together in the room they almost kissed but Carrie walked away and also in season 2 when she ran away after they were kissing, he's gone to her house to see if ''she was alive'', so he always had an interest in her.

👏🏽👏🏽 good analysis.. Carrie wanted something with Big that she wasn't even ready for at the time.. ppl like to blame him as if it was all his fault, but she had a lot of growing to do too.. if all she wanted was a solid relationship, she could have had that with Aiden (although I know they wrote him a certain way to prove she really wasn't ready).. she wanted Big and Big wanted her.. but they had to separate to experience other people and to form a better friendship over the years that followed the affair so that when the time was right, they could reunite for good with no more running and chasing on either side..
@mariablocker61862 жыл бұрын
I completely agree. I also think it was easier for Big to be with Natasha (at least before marriage and boredom) because she didn't chase him like Carrie. Natasha came off as letting Big lead and move relationship forward at his own pace without constantly demanding to know where they stood, whereas Carrie in season 1 and 2 constantly pushed for more before he was ready, like following him and his mother to their church and acting passive-aggressive when he didn't say "I love you" in return, leaving things in his place, Paris, etc. Natasha didn't give the impression that she would ever do anything like that.

I think Big liked her but did not love her, he only considers a certain type of woman as relationship material and an other for fun, he's been in a failed mariage before probably with a woman that is close to his ideal so he was only looking to live as a bachelor that's why he, albeit superficially, shackled up with Carrie, I don't think he ever saw it as going anywhere. Then there is Carrie who thinks she loves him for sure but doesn't know him at all, she sees him as a prize to be won otherwise she would have been more attuned to the ugly reality behind his "NY charm", she is a classic social climber who ignores it, she really revealed herself when she talked about how Natasha is "vogue" and she is a "sex column" at the beginning of the show she looks confident with her life and choices but as she meets Big we find out it was all pretense and she's incredibly dissatisfied insecure and troubled, she basically thought if this "great" accomplished guy chooses me, I am myself great and accomplished, if he disses me, I'm officially trash.

0:59 the way she puts her purse over the side of the boat always makes me nervous.

He said I don’t know. He couldn’t even say he wanted her. Why did they end up together?

So much bullshit and game-playing, this is how grown children behave.

This comment section is why women are always mocked emotionally, and yet we get mad when a guy stereotypes us as anything but positively. Forget about finding a man, find a partner who you can talk to and grow with, not someone who would lie just to make you feel better and empowered...

Don't get me wrong, them cheating on their partners is still very shitty, but I wish the comments would focus on that instead of him saying 'idk' being the thing to be talked about..

She should've been like Big here. Absolutely disinterested and said a polite hello and walked away. Start mingling and talking to others. He only talked to her because his wife missed the boat. Had Natasha been there he wouldn't even have looked her way. Have some dignity Carrie. Learn to slam the door on him.

It's sooo bad when you can't restrain the chemistry and affinity with some guy and you're basically perfect for each other but you know you can't have him because he decided to be with some trophy wife to flaunt around, I've been there. Lots of men are like this actually, they want a relationship for "social-validation" and not because it really makes them happy. That's why lots of marriages end up in divorce and failures.

That was her opportunity for an unplanned pregnancy to lock him in by draining his wallet and she missed the boat.

Would it had been a mistake to talk to Aiden about what was happening with Big and the confusion she felt? Hahaha

I know it’s tucked up*, but his desire for her was very intense. It did transform into love.
