Yes, I know she was an author, and a writer, and that she continued acting in movies in small parts here and there. However, she had such an abundance of talent and wit that she could have been bigger than Ellen Degeneres and Oprah combined. RIP Carrie Fisher. You’re a true legend.

So when I went through addiction and was badly treated by docs, I went and got accepted to medical school. I was going to change things. But I dropped out. Could not justify trying to save things going to shit because I've lost hope in humanity, because of people like the judgmental commenter. I'll just try to live my best in given circumstance and let live. Might think me antisocial but I guess I'm just jaded like that doctor, only didn't have to go through that hell to realize and I've kept my compassion intact. But still..

Leia's outfits were so much better. The original trilogy was nice and simple - although some of the actors had REALLY weird hair. And beards. Like that rebel general who's with Leia watching the attack on the Death Star - his moustache is monumental.

Nothing short of pure brilliance. Carrie Fisher was one of the truly gifted female comedians with too few actually knowing it because she wasn't given the opportunities her talents so deserved later in her life. She was never afraid to ensure she was the butt of her own jokes and boy, did she ever have the material for it.

@@ryneprince7113 well, they used about 8 minutes of footage which had the actual actress, and about 20 seconds with someone else as her shadow (or that's whom I think it was). Spoiler if you had already seen the movie or not care about it. . . . . .. . I don't think Lucasfilms/Disney would show her unless it's a flashback when she was young or as a force ghost like it was made at the end. Her family had already told they wouldn't let them do any more cgi shoots of Carrie in general

@@Gloss613 they was plenty of cgi, and even using the old footage, I still hated that. It literally ruined the movie, trying to get everyone else's dialogue to match up with hers made lines made the conversations terrible.

Carrie was one of the few in Hollywood who could look at her life and laugh while making us laugh with her. Between this and her Wishful Drinking special, I truly believe she could've been one of the great stand up comedians if she wanted.

I think I’ve watched this a 100 times! It makes me both sad and incredibly happy at the same time. To me Carrie was a treasure! I miss any future books we might’ve gotten and whatever else the future would’ve held for her.

The force WAS with her. Remember, she stood in front of her own father (Vader) and even he did not clue in that she was his daughter and the makings of a Jedi. It did not kick in until ep 6. Plus she killed Jabba the Hutt with a chain and her bare hands. A Force to be sure. RIP.

romans52345 Carrie was not the first nor will she be the last supremely talented artist to suffer from Bipolar Affective Disorder and to struggle with drug abuse. She was a flawed person, but she was a cherished person who leaves us with shining examples of her artistry and her writings, each filled with beauty and honesty.
