Carrot cake or carrot cake is a dessert that was invented in the United Kingdom during the Second World War. Thanks to the sweetness of the carrot, very little sugar had to be added, which was difficult to obtain. It is a super good and original dessert with its flavor. Particularly thanks to cinnamon, cloves and ginger, if for some reason you don't like those spices you can replace them with whatever you like most, vanilla and white chocolate. I already tried it and it's not bad at all!
250 g carrot
1 sachet of yeast or 10 gr
200 Wheat flour
125 GR butter
125 GR sugar
cinnamon a teaspoon
cloves half a teaspoon
2 eggs
ginger a piece to taste
optional some nuts
We preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes.
We blanch (we beat with whisks until it becomes whitish and foamy) the sugar with the eggs, then we add the butter and followed by the flour with the spices, salt and yeast, being careful to do it little by little so that no lumps form, and finally we add the previously grated carrots and ginger (if you are going to add walnuts, this is the time to incorporate them) and mix everything until it is well incorporated.
We put it in the previously buttered mold and put it in the oven!
Depending on your oven and the mold you used, it will take more or less. As a general rule, 30 minutes will be enough. Prick it with the knife in the middle and see how it comes out. If it comes out whole, stained, it is not ready. If it comes out dry, it will be more than done. Try to find a balance between the two so that it stays juicy, and then enjoy!
