Built as a replica of Bush's famous "Hoss", this is an extremely powerful mandolin. Adam Steffey played this mandolin extensively, and it is for sale from Sim's personal collection. Adam's looking great and playing better than ever! His thumb flexes a lot--that's an interesting style. I have nothing but respect for this man's tone and crisp, authoritative delivery. Liza Jane totally blew me out of the water when I heard it.

Haha, just before watching this footage I was looking at the video of Adam playing the Koa Elkhorn at Carter's and had the same thought about his thumb.

I’m friends with Adam’s first mandolin teacher Audey Ratliff, I’ve played with Audey a lot over the years and Audey’s wrist hardly ever moves, he all the movement is in his thumb and index finger.
