Your intros have to be some of the funniest damned things to watch. I can't imagine what possibly goes on inside your head to come up with this content, nor can I imagine how many takes you do to get it just right.

haha, Thanks Damien. It's hard to imagine but I am a perfectionist, sorta. If I can live with the flaw, then I move on. Sometimes I fuck up a tiny bit but it erks me too much and I have to re-do it. Some of the intros took me 10-15 go's to get right. I dunno how I come up with this stuff, either. Sometimes I have a funny thought or I think it is a funny thought and just use it as an intro and really - it's as basic as that. Things set me off but not always.

Also, in case you didn't realise (as you skipped clean over it) Basara X is actually a 2D 1-on-1 fighter created by ArcSys (in collab with Capcom), the peeps behind the likes of GuiltyGear series & BlazBlue series. It was decent and probably the best Basara title to date! Definitely worth a look if you have the means to play it, which judging from your comments re: Hang On '96, there won't be any form of Playstation in your house to even try it ;-P

Ah, I did not know that - very cool but not true about the Playstation remark. I own a PS2 because of a very select handful of games. One I mentioned in my DragonHeart review - Shadow of the Colossus. And since PS2 had proper backwards compatibility, I wouldn't mind checking out the lesser-known PS games. In fact, I have 2 (maybe 3?) PS1 games coming up for review. But yeah, don't expect it to be a common thing.

Always wondered about this one, as I bought Devil Kings for PS2 many years ago (i.e. Basara, but the UK release) and enjoyed it - as you say - for what it was; just a more polished attempt at the Dynasty/Samurai Warriors series - which I'm sure have come on greatly since the PS2 era. Anyway, still looks alright to me, but as is with the Dynasty Warriors series, this IS quite simply all these games are about. Pretty much the modern beat-em up in disguise - repetitive face smashing action!
