I liked your little man with a vest. What a relaxing place to carve. Coffee is always welcome.

You're right Doug, if what you doesn't make you smile, I wouldn't do it. Great video in the trees by the brook. Relaxing and grounding, thank you..

I'm retired in S.CA where there is nothing but parks and boredom. Miss my MN home when I lived near forests and enjoyed the crackling of walking in the "woods" on an autumn day. You make me envious...well, it's not your fault. I enjoy your videos.

Now that's my idea of a day well spent, Mr Doug - sitting in the sunshine under an old willow tree by a gently flowing stream, carving a little gnome and making a hot drink on the twig stove. Perfect! Thanks for sharing your carving skills, I am learning...little by little. The finished gnome was a great little character, and he seemed to like his dip in the stream - they come alive when you're not watching you know... and did you know that when you are concentrating your feet don't move at all...?

it was a good day -won't be quite so comfortable carving coming into winter now :)

Great vid Doug. I want that little man. Please sign it before you send it. I think in 30 years it will be worth more than a Tom Brady autographed football! I'd love to see you carve yourself and friends characters. Joe would be easy just a stick with eyes.

Ironic I think not as I sit with my canteen cup full of coffee on a sycamore log listening to the turkeys fly down and the roosters crowing thanks for the carving and coffee vids Doug as it got me to go out in the woods to get new wood and relax and let the chips fly thanks Doug
@coinsniper45537 жыл бұрын
Of course it's stil dark in the woods came out to collect some more carving stock this morning and seen fit for a coffee while I wait on day light what would be your favorite wood from the landscape now mind you iam from southern Ohio we don't have bass wood growing everywhere we do have pine and cedar poplar,sycamore of course lol
@dougLinker7 жыл бұрын
+Bryan Waugh morning Bryan -hope you have some success this morning. sycamore is not a bad wood for carving however it is hard,clear pine or cedar works much better though if you don't have access to Basswood

Enjoying watching your videos. I am a master scroll sawer. I was in a carving club years ago. They closed it down and have not picked up a knife in 4 to 5 years. Your videos is making me get back into it.

Watched a couple of your videos this past week or so, and brought an old pocket knife and some wood with me on my trip to Lake Patoka. We rented a house boat and it’s been so nice unwinding and watching these videos and carving along with you. Shouldn’t say this, but I cant wait to get home and pick up some basswood and a proper carving knife at my local lumber store in Indianapolis. Love the channel!

Hi Doug and thanks for the amazing videos , whats not to enjoy about the little people, I used to carve many years ago, Decoy ducks and animals , but moved on to other things as you do. now while casting around on you tube looking for ukulele stuff I came across your site and thought um close enough. Well now I'm hooked on 2 hobbies, both very enjoyable. Please keep them coming its better than the rubbish on TV and I will have a little family to boot.....ha ha.. best regards Graham Lowe. UK....

Hi there Doug , well I'm 55 and just happened to come across one of your videos last week and liked it so much it inspired me to have a go at doing a bit of whittling and really shocked myself , it's so satisfying to make a little figure from a piece of wood , only got a Swiss Army knife, now thinking of investing in a proper knife . You live in such a cool place as well 👍

Today is November 6th, 2018 ! . I discovered Doug Outside about a week and a half ago; and have been watching all of your "back" videos that I can find!! . Must say, I have loved all the ones I've seen!! . I am re-starting the "Carving & Coffee" series to watch them in order! . I'm 68 years old, taught myself to "whittle and carve" since back in the early 60s (around age 13) but; after seeing your way of doing things, I'm glad to watch, listen and learn!! . Thank you for your very fine videos!!

Thank You Doug, it's interesting, fun and relaxing to learn how this little guy came to life. Such a Pleasant setting for it and enjoyed the various camera angles. I appreciate that you do varied content but more then that for me Doug, is that it's always about the Host. I'm a fan of some of your friends Ch.'s as well and again it's 70% personality/30% content. That's a driving factor of my viewing enjoyment and a reason why I've been your subscriber for some time now. Always enjoy Doug being Doug. During this video I was taken aback by the commentary, I laughed and had intent interest. I always appreciate your perceptions, viewpoints and stories big D. Warm Regards, ... Oregon Mike H
