Q50s and q60s are still cool IMO

@@vetlungsthey havent lived up to the greatness of g35 and g37. The q50 is more than 10 year old design and q60 is axed and gone. At one point Infiniti was great alternative to BMW, these days its an afterthought

Nah, their Q lineup is better in every way. These older Infinitis were built to such poor standards that all the Gs and Ms have these cracking dash issues, warped rotors, flimsy automatics, loads of traction control module issues, high nvh levels,... The last gen M/Q70 and the Q50 are the best Infinitis and Nissans for the past 3 decades or so. They dont brittle and brake into pieces at least.

They still make them. The 7 speed carried over, and now they have a 9speed Torque Converted trans as well. They are not snappy like ZF but they sure are reliable. I would never buy any CVT, especially not a Nissan one lol.

The g35s had more aggressive factory exhausts. When the g37s came out they were made to be more luxurious so they made the factory exhausts very quiet. But with a quality exhaust the 3.7 sounds better and it’s a better engine all around.

Completely agree. I put a bassani cat back X pipe on and it sounds amazing. Motordyne also makes great exhausts for these, no rasp.

A muffler deleted doesn't even sound bad its when they remove the catalytic converters and all the resonators. Basically straight piping it. Ive heard a vq with stock cats and a removed muffler and it didn't sound bad at all not too loud or raspy but I think it was a g37 tho

No they sound terrible in stock compression and natural aspiration Aggressive Cams and some itb's at a minimum to not sound like a high school band of 1

Bmw 335i or bmws in general perform better but from 2008 owning a 335i until today u would pay 20 or 30k in maintenance while in a g35 4000 to 6000 in basic maintenance or less if u do it urself

New bmws r better but if ur 3 years and beyond the warranty u need 15k spare in the bank in case something breaks same with Subaru sti its got a weak oil burning engine u need 15k to swap it eventually because it will go

Bmws vs Nissan or infinite u get more performance from BMW but very few people win the lottery of cheap maintenance on it most people end up paying 3k n 5k often owning a BMW to fix it Nissan way cheaper to fix

@akeprophetmohammedra4337 The 07' 328i na I have may be the most reliable Bim since then. Really like how quiet and silky smooth the N52 I6 is. Yep,it leaks at pan gasket,but not much. I'm lucky and am a very good amateur mechanic. Just crossed 60k and I replaced water pump and earlier did all dampers n front lower control arms. Dealer wanted $1,200 for pump job. If I replaced the the car with newer/similar it would probably be G37. Definitely not a newer Bim.

You need to be careful modifying the suspension on one end. Take it to a Kmart parking lot and drive at the same speed in a circle. If it makes a larger circle every time around, it's understeering. If it makes a smaller circle, it's oversteering. You can modify the suspension to make the same circle every time which is called neutral steering.

@@williamwhite9767 stiffening the rear sway bar on these cars is a terrible idea. You would be best off removing it entirely. I run mine disconnected most of the time. Obviously people aren't driving track speeds on the road (hopefully), but at higher speeds the rear of the car is simply along for the ride. No grip. He has the right idea.

I love this type of feedback. I have a G37x I would like to start doing some minor modifications to the suspension.

@@track_g35 If you want to enter corners slower and get on the gas sooner exiting you want understeer and that is what you get by eliminating the rear sway bar. Depends on what gets you around the track the quickest.

@@calamaridogfor the X I have heard you want to do the opposite of what I stated, I would do a little research. It seems getting the stiffer rear sway bar from a G37S coupe is the best for an X

No more RWD in the smaller Infiniti cars/suvs any more. After my wife drove her RWD Infiniti, she said she never wanted another FWD.

All Japanese car companies got hit hard in the 90s when Japan's economy collapsed. Toyota and to a lesser extent Mitsubishi were held aloft by their industrial wings but everyone else had to take on massive debt and slash costs to survive. Nissan delayed that too long and almost pulled it out but ultimately had to slash costs as well which resulted in some really poor engineering choices made by the bean counters. Decisions such as the combined engine radiator/trans cooler units and integrated exhaust manifold/catalytic converter on truck platforms ruined reputation of the Titan & Armada just as they were finally starting to gain market share. Such a shame because aside from those two major problems the Titan is a darned good truck, but having random grenading of engine is a deal breaker. THEN bean counters struck again with the Titan XD. They wanted to get into HD trucks but bean counters decisions made it a compromise nobody wanted. Had they just made the XD their "normal" half-ton rhey could have claimed class leading in every stat, then alongside that built a 1.5 ton truck (optional dually) and called it class leading 3/4 and 1 tons.

And then they erased that heritage by renaming the line from G to Q

​@@robertm5969well yes and no. Carlos Goshn saved Nissan by green lighting all the early 2000s models that got them out of near bankruptcy like the 2002 Altima and G35. The 02 Altima was a smash success launching a horsepower war in the midsize sedan segment that lasted the rest of the decade.

How well can they drive? Even when new they had a terrible ride and driving them is not especially engaging. They were noisy, the interior is very low quality, filled with rattles and cracked bits of plastic. Its got 300+ hp so slow it wont be even if it looses half its power. I cant imagine any functional car driving any worse than that car, even if you dump a million miles into it.
