That little splash back on yourself of the dirt in the skid steer I have seen before. 50 years ago (really) the corporate farm I worked at during HS had one of the early bobcats. They had one pig barn where the basement level was all concrete, and we could use the bobcat to 'clean' after the pigs. The stuff was like thick pea soup and would leave a thin layer on the concrete. You could get the skidsteer moving forward and then slam it into a turn and it would spin sliding across the floor. Fun until one guy smacked into a vertical support and nearly collapsed the floor. OOPS. The other thing I saw was a new driver picked up a full bucked of wet 'soup'. He was moving toward the manure spreader wagon but stopped too fast. This caused a green wave of soup to move forward, but then it reverses and comes backward. The wave crests over the back of the bucket (much like your gravel) and completely coats him in the open operators station and of course the entire inside of the bobcat. Not sure we ever got that thing completely clean and it stank for years afterward.

It's definitely getting rarer to find tires for 15" rims nowadays. Too many new vehicles coming with absurd 20+" rims.

I have multiple vehicles with 15s. I have to order them myself. They can't order them, then penalize you when mounting because you didn't buy through them. Makes want to find a wall to pound your head against.

@@57WillysCJ Find a small mom and pop tire shop. They will take your money to mount and balance whether you buy from them or bring your own. The place I use charges $1/rim inch to mount and balance.

It goes to show you what their customer service is like, when a smaller company can and will do for a customer, that's why I always say go with the mom and pops businesses they still have the customer values on hand, where these big elite company's really just don't give two sticks if they make a sale or note because of their size of business. This brought back memories of my kid playing for hours with his yellow Tonka trucks. I brought in a couple of yards of sand and put in under a covered area. He would be out there until the sun went down, rain or shine. Doesn't matter how old you are this is still way too much fun.

Anything for 15” rims is really scarce in the Denver area as well. One distributor told me that it’s largely because the larger disk brake components needed for todays standards require more clearance, making 15’s obsolete. I have an old Scout - I may meet to get bigger rims - 16 or 17” rims.

It’s even a lot harder to find certain tires for 16 inch rims. Seems like 17 is the standard small rim size these days

Yep. Tried to put 15" wheels on my Forester and they wouldn't clear the brakes. I prefer some rubber on my tires.....

Another fun day in the skid steer, acrobatics included. It's a great day when work can turn into fun! The first thought I had when I saw the dump truck and trailer dump was "where's Dauminique The Dump Truck Driver?" But I know that she's in Washington state. Old jeeps are one the few vehicles still on the road using big tires on 15 rims. Everything else actually has a decent set of brakes on it that won't fit behind a 15. It's too bad you're on the other side of the country because I've got a shale hillclimb that'd love to finish off those old tires for you😂

I have found it difficult to get load range E tires for my 2003 F350 that aren't just a highway tread. I can get BF Goodrich All Terrain TA, but the one set I have had on the truck only lasted 23,000 miles. I guess the tire manufacturers assume that once a truck gets old, only someone like FabRats would take it offroad, and they would completely redo the running gear beforehand, to include putting new (larger diameter) wheels on it.

Not only does no one have tires for 15" wheels in Bend but most of them will refuse to install them without the vehicle there with it. I have had good luck with GoodYear in Bend though they had the tires I wanted and installed them without me bringing the truck as well.

I know 14 and 15 inch tires where I live is hard to come by. They are like a week or two in backorder. If it was 16 inch or larger, I can find them really easily here.

As the video showed the dump truck swung the trailer to the side so he could dump the load in his truck. On narrow mountain roads, in order to turn around, the long tongue allows the operator to swing the rear box alongside the truck.

Gotta tell you, I’ve been using Les Schwab for 40 years and up till the last 8 to 10 years they were great. Must be the change of time or poor management in that company but, they’ve lost my respect and future purchases because of the poor service I’ve gotten from the Gig Harbor Wa store.
