I'm a nurse, affected by the opioid crisis with soooooo many of my patients who become dependent on pain meds, and then are rolling and screaming because other doctors don't want to "make it worse". Then you see their obituary a week later because they overdosed trying to self treat their withdrawal. :(

I am affected by the Opioid Crisis in that I can't get a prescription. I am a survivor of a hwy head-on car vs transport MVA. When I did have a scrip of 20mg Oxycocette I would really ration them out. A bottle of 120 pills would last me 3 months. I only used them for severe pain.

My daughter was attending NAU from 2011 to 2015. She went to the ER in Flagstaff on for severe abdominal pain several times. They would discharge her with a month prescription of Vicodin. Fortunately, she would consult with me and took 2-3 and threw the rest out. I also made sure she followed up with primary care, Women's Health and explored counseling. Unfortunately, the therapist broke up our family. At least she is not addicted. That is as far as I know.
