This is definitely a minimalist's dream home! Having this one and with a tesla model 3 would be a match made in heaven. Who needs a big house ? Not me.

A few changes. Flip the closet/ fireplace. Do a Murphy bed/ closetbor bookshelf/ desk unit by the front door. Living room where the bedroom is. 2 foot wide fridge with a counter on the other side of the stove. Enclose the washer dryer in a closet/ cabinet. Have walk in shower. Add a linen cabinet coming off the counter on the vanity for extra storage.

Love the simplicity and practicality of the design concept. Also love the 50k price tag. Of course there will be other expenses: property if you don’t have any as well as the cost of whatever type of foundation you want. It’d work great with a monolithic concrete slab on grade, or steel framework mated to concrete piers (just an idea). As far as utilities, how difficult would it be to incorporate a solar system for power? I can totally see it as a self-contained off grid application with solar power, LP gas, composting toilet, and water catchment/storage/filtration systems. Completely off grid, low footprint, and the limited size should keep the taxman at bay. I live in Texas. Realistically how long before one could purchase, plug, and play? Let me know. Thanks.

I've always been obsessed with Lustron homes. They are made of metal tiles that click together and were created for WWII GI's returning home. there are only about 2,000 (or less) in Amercia now, and aren't usually in the parts of the country where I'd care to live. This is my solution! I'm sold!

Nice small home. My only complaint is the bedroom, it could have easily been separated if the closet went to the ceiling. It could still keep the rotating tv in the center but provide full separation with addition storage in both rooms. A sliding full height smoked window/wall could be used to separate the kitchen and bedroom.

May edit this but so far this is my feedback. Really great concept, and price. And very good design but I would prefer to have these options. The closet should be floor to ceiling. It's easier to add 2 tv's ;) than more closet space in the Casita. And as some ppl mentioned, the entrance door should be on the other side and living and bedroom should be switched. I absolutely LOVE the kitchen, all the appliances and so much counter space. The only thing I would like is rounded edges because it is such a small space. Also, isn't there a way to stick the washing machine in the bathroom? It could fit on the right side of the sink. There used to be double unit/washer dryer stacked. Don't they make those any more? The sink is very nice but not practical. I would prefer to have an option of those large old fashioned sinks. I am always washing something in the bathroom by hand! So that's about it. And it would be great as ppl mentioned to have other floor plans like garage add on and 1 or 2 bedrooms. Cheers! Keep up the good work

Delightful. However, the refrigerator is too big. I would prefer the European style 24 inch wide. We Americans waste 40% of our food. My mother fed a family of 8 with a refrigerator half that size. Our waistlines have expanded in keeping with the ever increasing size of our refrigerators. We need to rethink our relationship with food and appliances.

I can't wait until the modules come out. Me and my fiancee currently plan to be child free, so the base home plus the master bedroom module would be our order. But if at any point in the future we decide to have kids, our house can grow with our family. We are 27, and have long figured we will make the decision to remain child free the rest of our lives or to have kids by the time we are 33-35.

This makes my 1, 056 sq ft. home look large and instead of my selling it for a larger home, I would prefer to just remodel to update it after seeing this. It's amazing what you can do to something small and turn it into a modern dream home.

It's a little too small but nice for a bachelor,elder, student or retired person or even an introvert . Livingroom is a little too small . I need more room for a full size washer and dryer. I think it's an incredible idea cause it would save on energy and be good to teach modest and minimalist.

I think I posted on the wrong site, however, I'm very interested in owning this unit. Need someone to checkout my yard to see if it's large enough to support the Boxabl. Also, need yard prepped for foundation, plumbing and electrical. Don't know where to start.

I love it! and I would like to buy one casita for me in the near future, to live by the beach, whenever they are available for Mexico!

I think it might be better if the whole thing was designed like a studio apartment, the living/sleeping area one big room with the bed doubling as a couch, or as someone mentioned below, a murphy bed.

What is the counter height? It looks like the chairs can’t fit someone’s legs under the table. I agree, the counter corners need to be rounded in such a small space, or you’ll have a perpetual bruise on your hip.

Sounds like the closet is extra unless you buy at the show unless that has changed.....i personally would love to have two side by side and have a master suite (with closet and bathroom) and maybe an office. Seems like an excellent investment opportunity.

So.. does the TV, couch, and bed come included? It didn't say on the website. Since the TV is swivel I assume that it's included or has a way for it to swivel pre-owned TVs? If we don't get the Casita closet, do we still get the separation between the living and bedroom space? Or will the separation not be there? I'm about to graduate college and think this would be awesome to put on my family's land while I save money to buy a bigger home. My little brother can move here after I move out cuz he's going to college nearby in a few years so he'll be staying at home. Absolutely amazing price for everything included, I always liked tiny homes (this is also a studio apartment, whichever floats your boat lol). I'm impressed and interested, please respond! :) Also - there could be a tiny walk in closet if you're willing to remove the fireplace and take some space from the living room and remove the Casita closet. It'd be a one person, single file walk in closet. But it could have 2 racks on both sides and a horizontal dresser at the end. It also let's you have 2 TV's mounted to the wall (not swivel but ample closet space is worth it). If we can remove/opt out of the Casita closet, that's definitely what I'll be doing!

I would love to get this for my disabled children and possibly my nephew. Will there eventually be bedroom additions that could be added on (any idea on price?). The kids would be so in-and-out they don't need much living space, but I am sure they would like privacy in more than the bathroom.

I like it but I would prefer that cabinet between the living room and the bedroom to be a full sized wall, I understand they designed it opened to have that TV swing around, but with a full wall you can add closet cabinet space and I would easily put a large wall mounted TV on one side and just a small TV on the bedroom side, and that would give better privacy in the sleep side and add closet and storage space

Overall the idea is good, but I'm not sure why the common areas and private areas are not together? Example: Your bedroom and bathroom areas are more "private" - so why isn't the bathroom/laundry area directly across from the bedroom area? Then your living room and kitchen spaces (which are where your guests are more likely to hang out) would be directly across from each other (much more practical). You could then do a pull curtain that goes across the top midway through, which could separate the private from more public areas if you have others over. As it is now, it's flip-flopped, and people would have to walk right next to the bed area to use the kitchen, etc.

This is great. You should look into coupling with the VA for homes for Veterans. That is a demographic that will soon be filled with retirees, I believe.

Is this considered a stick house after it is assembled? If I purchase one of these I have to put in the foundation and then have a plumbing and electrical contractor do the plumbing and electrical? Can this be used as a stand-alone house, single family residence in an area that's zoned for only single family residences? Needs to be more modular. A box with a bathroom+ small outside sink can be used as studio just add fridge and stove,or a bedroom with extra sink, w boxes u could make a house however big you need. Add a box for each bedroom. Like Legos.
