UPDATE 2/1/24: If you're reading this, you're seeing this video get re released after an unfortunate incident of Casper Allen doing some bad stuff. Yeah, he messed up, and we made the video private. He took money from fans for merch that didn't exist, took advantage of fans and acted like an asshole. He knows this, we know this, and you probably know this. If you were one of the victims, reach out to Casper or us and we will try and make it right. He is working on it, and is sober now, trying to turn his life around. So we're here to help, cus why not. Everyone can do better. This song rocks, we love Casper despite his flaws, and we're glad to see him working on himself.
Also, this version of this song is on streaming services now.
Well folks, we might have done it. Watching Casper play live has always filled me with awe, but I never did capture it in a way I felt conveyed the power of his voice, writing and playing. Here we just might have bottled lighting, though.
Everyone has something to say about face tattoos, some preconceived notion of what they say about a person or how they're going to be. I wouldn't be surprised if that's why Casper has them - he likes to defy convention, go against the grain. Talking to him you would quickly find he's nothing like you'd imagine at first glance - personable, charismatic, intelligent and full of stories.
This song is one of the first ones I heard of Casper's, on a low-fi bandcamp album he'd put out. He'd sent it to me the first time we spoke, online, and the power of the writing shined through even then. It's what sparked my interest in finding Casper, and meeting in New Tazewell all those months ago. Then I went to New Orleans upon his invite, and discovered a whole bunch of talented folks down there. So it's just one of those serendipitous moments, where the passion for music really brings folks together.
