Great shots, especially the four working together as a team, each one scraping in turn, thus each scraper getting the power of 8 Cat engines while its scraping, awesome.

Last time I saw four Scrapers hooked together the third one in line found a rock on the cab side and the pan got ripped in half.... No more four long max is two good memories.

Usually brakes the bail also does major stress to goose necks. Good way to lose any warranty left on machine. Machine not designed for that much stress.
@RyanHatterer-Ryanns999 Жыл бұрын
@@wyoodrifter1811 Nope two are the most, we run Terex 14 yards (TS14G's) three if it's very good soil and we have a very long cut area. Where we ran four together was a landfill project had to move as much dirt as possible (we moved 3.5 million yards) so they could keep filling it with trash.

I can not even imagine the fuel bill for this operation. That must be a fortune to run them daily. 🥴
@bigmario768 Жыл бұрын
Where I work running 623s, a single engine 623 will burn give or take 100 gallons in a 9 to 10 hour shift if it's going hard the whole time and 623s are almost on the smallest end of the cat scarper line up. I'd say these would quite easily double that amount of fuel usage per single scraper per shift.

Great video as usual. Would love to see the production numbers in a long-straight pull (in sand) like this in a 2 X 2 vs. 4 X 4 as show. The benefit of combined horsepower may be/is a deeper cut but the time penalty may drive Actual production down. Teaming four guys together is visually impressive but I wonder if a 2 scraper team is more efficient? Can anyone comment on this?
@wills.57622 жыл бұрын
4 is almost certainly overkill but depending on traction they may need more than 2
@markcogswell69692 жыл бұрын
With sand and lack of water in the cut, it's better to have the hp tripled and/ or quaded up. A pair would more then likely be hopping trying to get a load unless you load with you hitch up and not alway getting a full, heaped load neither. Personal experience I guess.

I ran scraper for 35 yesterday I've put 6 together before but cat guy told me one day they are designed for 2 to run together that's what I ran most years worked with 3 scrapers a lot if you can put power to the tires you can move a lot dirt but you have to work together

How thick is that layer of sand? because here in FL those scrapers hardly work except some paddle scrapers because you can't see them push and pull. already tired to fill end dumps every day 🥴
