Catch n' Cook Dungeness Crab and Perch in a Sea Cave!

After catching a surf perch and dungeness crab in the shallows, I found a sea cave with an oceanfront view and cooked up a little fish and crab for breakfast! I seriously love the Oregon Coast!

Cøurtney B it’s dangerous if there’s high levels of mercury in the water. Other then that it’s also high in cholesterol so it not good for you to eat too much. But if you like it, there’s not much else like it.

HMM, I wouldn't be worried about cholesterol, but Hg mercury? No thanks, no Minimata disease for me. I can remember seeing the story on Minimata in the National Geographic when I was growing up. I thought the only part not recommended to eat was the 'Dead man's fingers?'

There’s a wedge under the carapace just about the joint of the legs where you can pull the carapace clean off and kill it instantly. Or you grab it by the legs super close to the carapace and bash the head clean off on a rock. Removes the carapace instantly in one clean go. Instant crab death. Minimal carapace damage.

Top tip, use olive oil or similar to cook the fish, then add the butter at the end and spoon over the fish for flavour. Cooking from scratch in butter is likely to indeed burn the butter.

Once I get older I’m moving to Florida and my family is moving to Georgia. So, if I ever need anything they’re not too far away but, that’s beyond the point. i used to go crabbing at the Venice Breakwater in Venice CA. As a kid. (mid 70s to mid 80s) Man! we had fun. My friends and i would catch at least 10 rock crabs each bring them home and have a great dinner. This video brought back alot of great memories.

Excellent video. Though you hate to see any living creature killed, this is harvesting at its finest. Such is the circle of life. This video was amazing. Actually removed myself for a moment and visualized I was there with you. I could smell the ocean water and taste the fish and crab as you ate it. Nice Vid!

Just subbed... was so glad that you are taking advantage of what most of us can't! Love the cold rainy days, fishin' in the rain. Kudos to you !! I live in NC but not on the coast. I have a bucket list item of one day fishing in the vast ocean!!!
