It's a credit to Nicholas Hoult that he can portray a character so simultaneously likeable and hateable in such a convincing way. This is what happened to a lot of male monarchs - they received little real love from their parents but lots of fake love from court sycophants, so they grew up entitled, insecure, emotionally stunted, unable to love but desperate for love, and completely lacking in empathy all at the same time.

I never thought I would find such a toxic, morbid and hilarious relationship so sexy, provocative and entertaining. I'm a dope of these two. If he dies in S2 i´ll do too!

I actully really liked this show.

Toxic relationship that are like this, is only sexy on screen. In real life you should leave your partner. Run as fast as you can.

This relationship is so genius because they both changed as characters so naturally during the season. Peter is slowly changing for the better to be calmer, more even-tempered, and kind, inspired by her, while she meets him in the middle and has become more ruthless, violent and commanding because of the crown. They’re so compelling because they’re changing characters who have grown into one another and their love just makes sense at this point in such a bizarre, interesting way.

As a Russian and a history Iover wanna say, that this show is not quite right in historical way. But I like it because of humour. It's funny!

Their relationship is underrated badly

This series has brought up so many emotions in me. On one hand I am totally on Catherines side but on the other hand I felt really sorry for Peter when he found out about her plan. And on the one side this couple is so toxic but on the other one they are so made for each other in a very strange way...

I'm honestly so impressed by Elle and Nicholas. Such a phenomenal job portraying these two. Also what great edit, it perfectly grabs the essence of their relationship. And the music and the timing is just *chef's kiss*. Thank you for this, I've probably rewatched it a hundred times.

Everything else aside, the acting and writing in this show are top-class. Nicholas Hoult and Elle Fanning, especially, didn't miss a single beat. Same goes for the rest of the cast.

Despite loving this type of period romances, I was quite reluctant to watch this show since I wasn't sure how much different it would be from other ones like 'The Crown'. But this seems to have so much more humor and actually looks much better than I thought. Great video by the way! It made me already love this couple without watching a single episode yet. This show was great. I love Peter and how stupid he was, I love Catherine and how smart she was. They were great together. I hated the writers for ending the season when they did, but life can’t always be awesome.
