We all want to eat comfortable, especially when it’s cold outside, not everyone’s priorities are the same! I like the sizzling fajitas sound & smell as well,, as long as the main food is HOT & good, can’t sweat some of the small stuff I guess

I watch Rich and Jens adventures, they tried a new restaurant called Pucketts. 2480 Parkway? When you get there you order at the front desk where the hostess stand is .they got fried cucjen and I guess you order and they bring it over to you at your table. They got an appetizer of palmettos dip. There only cooking was it took half an hour to get their food. The hostess told them it would take half an hour because they make the chicken right when it’s ordered. Just somewhere different for you both to try. It’s in Pigeon Firge and when you walk in, you order. You can go under You zither and watch the videout was posted today I really enjoy your reviews!

Glad you reviewed this place. I drive by it all the time but have never tried it. The place looked very clean and the food looked good with nice portion size. I understand the heating issue, after all we are having record cold here! Next weekend we are having an ice sculptor festival, Friday in downtown Waynesville and Saturday in Maggie Valley.

Thank you for watching. Yes, we attended the Ice Sculpting Festival last year and did a video. Unfortunately, it was unseasonably warm that day, and it looks like it's going to be the same this weekend. This past weekend would have been a great time to have the Festival. Nothing would melt.

Looked like the fan was on. On the thermostat. So cold air was running all the time. If thermostat was set right fan would be on auto. Just my 2 cents. ❤

No hot water in a bathroom in a restaurant is a red flag to me. Seems like there wouldn’t be hot water in their kitchen either. Concerning for sure.

The bathrooms were not in the restaurant itself. They were in the motel lobby kind of down the hall. Surely the kitchen would have hot water. The reason there was no hot water in the bathroom, is the type of faucet that they had, automatically dispenses the water. There was no way to adjust it to hot. I didn't really understand why they would install those type of faucets, because most people like to wash their hands with warm or hot water. But I can't blame the restaurant for what the motel lobby has.

The cold temp would have been a deal breaker for me. I would have been too uncomfortable to eat. Glad the food was still good for y’all!

Yes, the cold temps were about the only drawback.

Food looked good 😊 glad you liked it. I probably would have been ok with the temp. I live in Indiana and i get used to cold. Dont really love the cold but am used to it. Its 7 degrees here today. Looking forward to spring. Thanks and God bless you both

All of you understand it is in the teens in nc and tn trying to keep the pipes warm in our homes right now is hard

Yes, but in fairness, every other place we went inside of, was still warm. They said it had been hot in there the day before, but they were having a problem with their heating that day. I'm sure it was just something that happened for that day, and not the way it usually is. It wouldn't keep us from going back.

Did your Fajitas come with tortillas? Usually you put the meat inside a tortilla and then top it with the toppings they give you like a burrito. Still looked so good. I love your food reviews very honest and lots of information.

Yes, and she did put it in the tortilla. She tasted the meat for the video, but once the camera was off, that is how she did it.

I always get Texas fajitas tell them no green peppers or whatever I don’t like. Delicious.

I respect your honesty. Thank you. If food was good that's great. Hopefully next time they will have heat😅. Poor waitress having to wear coats and hats as well as customers is very sad

What days are the best for visiting Maggie Valley ? I went down and visited in October 2023 ! I believe it was in a Tuesday or Wednesday ! The restaurants were closed ! I guess they are only open on certain days of the week ! What are best days ?

I don't know why they would have been closed during the week in October, as that is one of the peak months for visiting the mountains. I was not aware of that, and I'm very surprised to learn it. I know our favorite restaurant in town, does open Wednesday through the weekend. But I didn't know that was common among all restaurants there. I can't imagine any restaurant being closed after Wednesday of the week.

Just a note...It's Catrina's. Did you see the sign right above our heads when we were doing the intro? That's clearly a "C" and not a "K". I know you likely stopped by just to correct the fact that I said "Carina's" without the "T". I misspoke, but you misspelled it. I corrected myself in the video title. If you're going to issue a correction and nothing else, maybe spell it correctly. Quite honestly, we don't need a correction every time we misspeak. It happens. Thank you, and have a nice day.

Y’all folks eat anywhere.. lol No customers No heat No hot water Show up and they hand ya bean dip rather than salsa I would have walked out when I walked in.

There were some customers, but I'm guessing that some people did leave because of the temperature on the inside. Plus, we went around 3:00, which is kind of a slow period between lunch and supper.

I will give my honest review on this place. I did not like it at all, and i live on 276 a mile from the place. When it was Rendezvous, You could not get in the door for the crowds. We sometimes had to get reservations to get seated! The former Owner was former General Manager of the FATZ Cafe Franchise. Since He retired from FATZ,they went belly up! He sold the Hotel and the Hotel/Restaurant has not been the same!

Very sorry to hear that you had a bad experience there. We can only base it on the food yesterday, and we thought the food was fine. It was just having to sit in there and freeze, that made it a little bit unpleasant. I didn't know that, about the former owner of Rendezvous also being over the Fatz Cafe franchise. Thank you for that interesting info.

I don't know how you can enjoy food at a restaurant if it's not comfortable inside. Camping is one thing. Paying customers should not have to freeze . Other wise I enjoyed your review

I've never been to a Mexican place that DIDN'T give you regular salsa when you were seated. Hate yall had to go outside after yall ate to get warm,lol! I believe, by law a restaurant has to have warm water in the bathrooms while they are open? I believe its a health inspection rule? The food looked good. Fajitas should always come out SMOKIN' HOT! That's the novelty side of getting one. An honest review is not a bad one but one that a restaurant can see and fix issues that arise from time to time.

The only thing about the bathroom, is that they were not technically in the restaurant, but in the hotel lobby down the hall.

There is one other place I can think of in Morganton, near where we go to church, that brings out bean dip. But they also have a salsa bar where you can go up and get whatever kind you want.

There is no way I could have sit there in freezing temps to eat!!! As far as no hot water in the bathrooms that was a huge red flag. That is grounds for the Health Department to close them down. I have worked in a major chain (grocery) who had a deli and this is a big fat NO NO.

As we mentioned in the video, the bathrooms were not in the restaurant itself. They were in the motel lobby, down the hall. The temperature inside the restaurant, was somewhat uncomfortable. They said they were having an issue with their heat. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

That's probably the coldest I've ever been, when dining inside of a restaurant. But since they said it was an issue with their heat, I'll take their word for that. But yeah, it was kind of uncomfortable.
