Canadian actor Mike Myers tells CBC's Midday the story of how he came up with the Wayne Campbell character -- and how his life experiences helped him do so.

Did You Know?
- Two years after this interview, Mike Myers would star alongside Dana Carvey in the first of two Wayne's World movies -- both of which centred around Myers's character, Wayne Campbell, and his sidekick, Garth Algar, who was played by Carvey.
- Myers would also gain fame for another popular character who anchored a series of movies -- Austin Powers, a fictional British spy.
