Mike Myers discusses how he creates classic characters including Austin Powers, Linda Richman, Fat Bastard, Dieter and Mishu Ivanov. Mike talks about working with makeup artist Louie Zakarian to characters for The Pentaverate, and what he's learned from Peter Sellers, Dave Foley, Conan O'Brien, Dana Carvey, Phil Hartman, Chris Farley and other comedic greats. Mike also opens up about his Canadian upbringing, his father's motto of "How fast can we find this funny?" and the importance of silliness. Mike's newest series, The Pentaverate, is streaming on Netflix now.

yah cause he killed his career after the Austin Powers series. The love guru was absolutely horrible, was there any successful movies he starred in after Austin Powers? The only thing I remember about the guy when he was actually still famous was that he showed his dick to Britany spears. The guys got one successful trilogy, the rest flopped.

Having my formative years of exposure to comedy being the era when Mike Myers, Chris Farley, Dana Carvey, Phil Hartman, Chris Rock, Norm, Adam Sandler, etc. were on SNL feels like a gift. So I’ve always follow these guys and their careers. It’s no secret that Mike has had ups and downs with his costars and career. But he genuinely feels like he’s back to what he used to be and loves to do. And I think a huge part of that was him making peace with himself and Dana Carvey. I feel like ever since he’s done that, he’s turned the corner. It makes me really happy for him.

Pentaverate is so great. It was incredibly refreshing to get a big dose of Mike's humor. I grew up seeing a lot of his work, and I don't think I realized till now how much I've been missing it recently. Love that fella.

I really enjoyed listening to Mike talk about comedy. I also had a great time watching The Pentaverate. I didn't realize how much I needed a good dose of his silly type of comedy. Thank You MM

8:30 that whole sentence made so much sense. "who do you think you are?" vs "who you want to be?" As great as Canadian film is, there are reasons why most good stuff is done in the US.

I'm telling ya baby, that's not mine. Quartermaster Clerk : One warranty card for Swedish-made penis enlarger pump, filled out by Austin Powers. Austin Powers : I don't even know what this is! This sort of thing ain't my bag, baby. 😂😂😂 Austin Powers definitely one of my favorites. 😅😅😅👌🏼💯

I feel like it's been quite some time since I really saw Mike Myers doing his "thing." After watching the first episode of Pentaverate, I realized that whatever that spark was that he had back in the '90s that made him great is still present, and fully intact! It's great to see you again, Mike! (Watching So I Married Axe Murder was a tradition in my home on par with Christmas, so to be able to watch a show now that's spun from that movie 30 years later... Well, what a world we live in!)

Strangelove was an absolute masterpiece of comedy, and drama; Being There was one of the greatest send offs; and The Life and Death of Peter Sellers is, by far, the best tribute.

After his long hiatus from film and the stories of being a terror to work with, I’m glad to see Mike back and hope that he brings the funny back with The Pentaverate.

Ive not seen much of him in interviews actually, he seems like a really interesting guy! He's pretty unassuming but thinking sbout it, he's made some of my favorite and most quotable movies! The Wayne's World movies (And SNL), The Austin Powers movies & The Shrek movies. We rewatched those things SO many times growing up. Sure he's had a few that didn't do as well, but imo he's earned the right that I'll check out anything new he puts out and give it a chance!
