One of the previous guys said he got a chuckle out of the slip I will agree but I laughed out loud when putting on the rubber gloves and I think you had a hard time not yourself. I have rebuilt a lot of forks and what a great job slip included . If you aren't having fun it isn't worth doing. Thanks. 🤣

That was neat. I have seen the inside of a fork leg for 40 years. There ought to be a way to stop the pitting of the stanchions, Chrome and then Teflon coating?

Great update. Will the fork tubes be bare aluminum or still black when vapor blasted? You must have seen silver terrible looking fork tubes on older bikes. Would vapor blasting make these look new and be durable? Take care.

Yes they will be bare aluminium once blasted. When the Kawasaki forks were done the vapour blaster told me to wipe them down with clean engine oil. They still look as they did 2 years on.

Ive done this twice on my 2000s 929 but one of the forks still leaked. Now I wonder if I didn't tighten a drain bolt or I put something back wrong. Thank you for this video.

Hi just a quick question what's the price difference between re chrome and replacement.

Yes, that is a good question. There are no more genuine Honda stanchions left for this bike, so I have the choice of a rechrome or more pattern parts. Both are about the same price, £200. As I am not in a hurry and using the original parts is always better, I'm going for the rechrome.
