I met Yolanda back in the early 90s. She gave me her autograph. She signed the back of my original birth certificate. That was the only paper that I had available. ❤❤ I carry my birth certificate with me at all times because the message she wrote to me was so inspirational. It carried me through so many difficult times. I was deeply saddened when she passed away, but I still have her with me.

It starts with the parents. If they don't possess morals and values that good and decent, then we see what happens with the children. It's a repeat cycle. This is irregardless of an income bracket, a neighborhood, a social status, or an educational level. This country has some of the most highly educated, gated community, wealthy people, who do not possess good morals and values!!!

@@sherryhillman9197I get your point. Back then, education for Black children was pushed so they could make a good living (even though that's not the only reason). Now, the world has changed so much, and many college-educated people aren't making as much as a lot of teenage KZfaqrs. There are 18 year old KZfaqrs out there making millions annually. I think more emphasis is on money ONLY now than the college-educated experience and benefits. Frankly, I'm not mad at the KZfaqrs and investors who are currently using social media and investments to create wealth - as long as they don't let that wealth ruin them emotionally and socially. Either way, intelligence can't be bought.

+Mt. Theodore Alan: Greetings, I was in my late 20's prior to the interview questions at her request was sent/fax. The Interview took place at the KING CENTER in Atlanta. When I was officially introduced to Mrs. King - I smile and said what an historically moment for me. She smile and said you are just a baby - forget about the questions sent ask whatever you would like. Before the interview she escorted me on a tour upstairs (AT THAT TIME IT WAS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC) I was nervous in the fact of WHAT IF SHE CANCEL but not in meeting her I was WAY TOO EXCITED! Blessings to you! (FOLLOW ME ON FACEBOOK @CALVINCARSON also twitter/Instagram

So glad I stumbled upon this during Black History Month. I’m black and proud. Mrs. Coretta was concerned about how the nation is grieving along with her family. Wow! What an example of selflessness and love. It’s still so sad to think about the death of Dr. King after all these decades. 😢

I love the grace on Correta Scott Kings face. She is so beautiful. So eloquently spoken. Black history month drew me here. This is why I have a paid holiday for his birthday. Also she continued to progress this movement. I will forever feel indebted to this family for they have essentially changed history. It helped Americans and this nation out in so many ways I can only express my gratitude 🙏🏼. Let us continue and try to come back together as a nation as she said "It's hope for redemption".

@gwenclark2931

@Ettennea, I understand exactly what you are saying. The overall comparison of what used to be considered respectful vs. what is respectful now are lightyears apart. She was not her children's "peer". She was a parent. And I personally believe that the current norm has become, "Be your child's peer" which is totally different from being their friend. But unless one was there to witness what WAS vs. what IS, it may be hard for them to understand and grasp the difference.

HATE!! It's likely 21 racists have disliked this video. There would be NO other reason to dislike a video displaying a grieving family in the midst of tough times. Even their vulnerability, pain and sorrow in this interview aren't enough to soften the hearts of racists. Racists will hold onto hate w/ALL their might!!! It's just in their makeup unfortunately. Also, unfortunate is that they are perfectly okay with it!!
