CCi Standard Velocity -CZ457, CHRISTENSEN ARMS RANGER and RUGER PRECISION. Tough day at range.

Today I took three rifles all set up the same with Arken Ootics Sh4 and Sh J4 Optics shooting cci standard velocity at 50 yards and 100 yards.
The Christensen Ranger ended up shooting best groups at 50 while CZ457 did best at 100. The Ruger Precision was right in the mix. All targets at end video. Tough day with battery issues and a lot of distractions. But a day at the range is always fun.
Will revisit range with more ammo and see if can get the .3moa groups on video with the ammo each likes best.

Damn range went from being empty all week to war zone busy. Was unable to venture back and forth readily to start stop, reset gopro etc down at targets.

Totally, lol. At times I don't realize the shooting as much while there but editing I'm amazed at the degree. The camera does funny things...turn it on and stuff comes out of woodwork, brain goes mush and tongue tie

That goes to prove every rifle is different like I said before my cz457 absolutely loves the cci sv.

Indeed! I need to go back through old targets. One of these 3 stooges liked this ammo in the past. And well sitting on 3,000 rounds of it sure hope it was the day, lol. I also found temp affect the .22lr ammo accuracy a lot. Was 43 degrees this day average 5mph wind and very humid. But in the end all distractions aside it great to be out shooting in mid 40s in Michigan this late year. More to come. Thanks for chiming in.

@@RugerGundog I have many 22lr rifles and most do very well with this ammo but the cz just shines with it and with the Norma tac, I was offered a very good deal on some cci sv and bought every bit they had , and have nearly the same amount in Norma, sk is also very good but extremely hard to get ahold of in this area , eley match is a waste of money in my cz ,

Found my notes. Last winter my center x shot best in my cz. 50y 10 shot groups were all in .35 moa range (that day). Was 36 degrees sunny no wind.

What stock is that on the Christensen Ranger? I have never had good luck with CCI. I would love to see you take one of those rifles come over and join Dayattherange 2024 Captain America Challenge.

I have chimed in with him over at the day at the range. Maybe ping him to call me out ;) 😉. Sounds fun. The stock is a ranger stock I modified along with a few other small changes. My ranger loves some ammo...Hates others...but I guess all my .22lr same.

Looking at putting either a EP5 or SH-4J on my .22lr savage for some bench shooting. Do you think the EP5 is too much scope for this setup?

Do you know if there is a difference? I have some Standard Velocity that says target on the bottom. Ive been seeing like in your case that it does not. If there is a difference, it may be a big one. Im getting 1" groups at 50 with a Rem.597 22lr thats got me excited!

Im not sure. But mine does say Target. I have found this ammo is accurate and shoots better than bulk ammo but is not quite to the standard of the actual precision .22 stuff. But for the price its worth it to get trigger time.

Wow! That's a little strange from what I get. I shoot almost exclusively CCI Std Vel and don't get a spread like that at 50yds and I always shoot suppressed. My CA Ranger and my two 457's will do .6" to .75" groups on a regular basis with Arken SH4 scopes and these 80 year old eyes at 50yds. Again, suppressed. My Bergara B14R and Tikka T1X will do a little better with the same ammo. Can't say about the Ruger Precision, I dumped it a couple of years ago because, in my case, the word "precision" should have never been in the name. Just checked out your channel, the content and have a question: Why do seemingly over half of the videos have the word "Arken" in them? What am I missing? Thanks. JimE(Ex Michigander after 60yrs)

My CZ 457 MTR 20" shoots sub moa at 50 and 100 meters, using SK Rifle Match. At 50 meters if there is more than one hole it's usually my fault.

Trigger is probably too light and that is why the sear is not holding the striker properly.

I suppose if had enough compression to understand the title you would have had those 15 minutes back ....but you wont.....so I win. I do appreciate the laugh and algorithm bump though pale. Cha ching...guess i win 2x.
