Connor was a real one for telling her to do this. It doesn't matter if its gross or wasteful cause she's allowed to enjoy pizza however she wants. And spitting it out was such a simple solution it should have been obvious, but it was honestly smart of him to think of it

Yeah, I recall hearing abt a girl who lost her intestines in an accident and tasted food the same way. Better than nothing, surely, and it's not like she's going to want to eat a whole lot that way

Nah, this isn't really good without a doctor's supervision. Chewing food for taste and then spitting it out without swallowing is considered an eating disorder and can cause other negative health effects.

@@agent3c CHSP can lead to dental problems since tastier foods can be worse for your teeth due to sugars and other factors that make some foods more desirable for their flavor. It can cause acid reflux or stomach ulcers because the stomach starts producing more acids when you chew in anticipation of digestion. It can also be linked to overeating and weight gain in some individuals surprisingly. Like I said, definitely not a healthy practice without doctor's supervision.

⁠@@otakueve117 you're thinking of an autoimmune disorder, which is on the right track but slightly off. Mouse has a condition called Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID) which causes her body to be unable to produce antibodies so her immune system can't attack anything.

@@otakueve117 IDK about mouse but I know that people who have stomach problems that can't eat basically have a big bag of nutrients they hook up to an IV and they get fed nutrients directly into their blood.

@otakueve117 it's not a direct symptom of her condition, but basically since she has no functional immune system her body has not gut bacteria. That means she cannot digest most kinds of food. She has to stay on antibiotics and other medications that nuke her gut biome.

Thanks mouse for posting this, my wife has Gastroparesis and cannot digest basically anything other than potatoes, but we use the chew and spit method for her to be able to taste some of the food that I cook for her. she's very self conscious about this, so hearing that someone she respects so much also does this made her really happy!! cant wait for you to be able to try all these new foods!

I know it gets said all the time, but Connor is such a good friend! As someone who has been struggling with mental health issues for my entire adult life, one thing I've learned from all the therapy I have done, is how to be kind to your self, and compromise instead of the usual "all or nothing" type of thinking we as humans tend to do. This pizza thing is a perfect example. Yes wasting food is bad, but Connors idea to spit it out was SO good! Mouse, you deserve to be happy and have normal experiences like eating Pizza! Be kind to your self, girl!

Not only, but clearly mouse is female, every other iteration of Satan is male. It has nothing to do with religion, it's just inspired by the concept of religious figures. Satan being one of them

I have a big thing for people wasting food, hell even seeing people smashing watermelons and just throwing out good food gets on my nerves online but this. It was no waste! You cherished that pizza more than anyone else on the planet and you loved it! You savored every taste that pizza offered and you were grateful for every bite! I love to cook and I would cook a thousand meals for you just to have to spit it out and still enjoy every bit! ♥ Big Bird Energy!!!!!

@@the_mad_fool I'd rather "inhale" it to show how tasty that was, rather than eating it slowly, getting the dish cold (if it was supposed to be hot) and ruining the whole experience. Getting it hot in the microwave or pan again - the dish will be not the same at all, part of the moisture will vaporize, making it less juicy. Two sides of the same coin.

That stuff definitely bothered me until a friend got a job in industrial food production, and I saw the scale of the waste there. You'd personally have to throw out an entire pizza every day of your life for the rest of your life to even make a dent in what these big factories throw away every year. That doesn't even take into account food destroyed/damaged in transit or shrink at the supermarket. Obviously, one shouldn't waste food, but the damage an individual can do is nothing compared to the waste that goes on systemically.

Funny stuff. Everyone's lactose intolerant. It's just that different people have different levels of how much lactose they can take in. For me, it's something like 2 weeks of at least half a liter of milk (or equivalent in milk based products) and then the explosions happen. I know, cause when i first heard it, i didn't believe it. :)) "I'm not lactose intolerant, that's BS". Oh... boy, was i wrong.

@@JackdotC from what I've heard, Northern Europeans are typically much more tolerant to lactose. Something like 95% can tolerate it. I'm Irish and my whole family is fine except for my sister lol, she got unlucky.

@@JackdotC It depends on the global region. Asiens for example tend to have more often problems with lactose intolerance. Western people not nearly as much but there are definitly are some.

100% eating is such a core human experience. I have been driven to go to the store in the middle of the night because my craving for a certain food becomes too overpowering, I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to spend years of my life unable to eat. Mouse deserves to experience that part of being human too, and if tasting it and spitting it out is how that has to happen, then more power to her. I wouldn't even call it wasteful. Grocery stores dumping bleach on food they can't sell to ensure nobody can eat it is wasteful, Mouse enjoying food in the only way she can is wholesome.

It's kinda sad that Mousey can't fully enjoy eating as it's meant to be due to her illness. That said, she celebrated that moment the best way she could and was able to enjoy flavors and textures. She has to resort to nutritional shakes for nourishment. Her "chokky milk". Now the big question is: was the "peekza" from "Li'l Kayser's"?

Well. She can at least enjoy the taste. Don't forget, you don't taste the food anymore when it's down the throat anyway. So biting into it, chewing it for a while and spitting it out again gives you most of the taste you can get.

You did something awesome, and you found your own way of celebrating. No one can be anyone else but who they are. If that is what brings you enjoyment then go for it. We all sometimes need that friend who is going to encourage us to step outside of our comfort zone and do something to make things interesting. While the way you did it may seem weird, the concept is about as normal as a person can be. You put in all the work, so take some time and enjoy the accomplishment. You can see it as a waste of food because after she spits it out she still needs to eat something else, but I think it's not a waste if you enjoyed it. That pikza brought her that much joy, it was more enjoyed than any other pikza ever. That was not a waste that was happiness.

Connor is such a damn good human being. He treats her like a normal person while also taking her situation seriously. She loves Piiksa so much but can’t eat it. Connor always orders Pizza on stream when she tells him to just to please her. Now he at least wanted her to taste the Piikza even if she can’t fully eat it. These two warm my soul and restore my faith in humanity.
